It had been a number of years since my last visit. It was beautiful day and we decided to stop here for lunch on our drive from London to Cornwall. Well wort the detour. Still as good as ever, excellent food, excellent beer, friendly staff in a fantastic location. Nice restaurant! The food was excellent! Flavor and quality of ingredients are also great. Everyone enjoyed their meal. If you are sitting outside just be sure the staff knows you are there. It seems when the weather is not so good, the waiters are not checking that often. I'll definitely come back to try something else from the menu. Leek soup was awesome. The brie, bacon and cranberry sandwiches, thought bit much on the cranberry. Service was very personal and couldn't do enough to make our visit feel special. Pub is lovely, it gives the air of a real local. But no matter the food or service this pub is worth a visit, just to sit literally at the waters edge and enjoy the British countryside. Located in a nice spot. Food was not great, mediocre at best. Service is also fairly slow and it wasn’t particularly busy when we went. We had the Beef Burger Chicken Caesar Salad Fish & Chips And the kids had Nuggets & Fries and Garlic Bread Perfect spot just 10 minutes from Stonehenge and 15 minutes from Salisbury! If you want to experience real English cuisine — this is the place. This isn’t London, this is the true England 🏴. Spacious and easy parking. The staff are warm and welcoming, and the manager/owner is incredibly friendly and attentive. A special mention to the Russian-speaking waitress — she was absolutely wonderful (sorry I didn’t ask her name). Highly recommended for tourists visiting Stonehenge 🫶🫶🫶 Lovely riverside pub and great garden next to the river. Food was superb and great value. Probably the best Club sandwich I've ever eaten. Just wow. 60th birthday celebrations with friends. Booked outside, but the weather had turned chilly, we were immediately offered a beautiful table indoors. My second visit but my friends first and they had travelled over an hour to celebrate my birthday with me. My friends and I had an amazing experience. The food was faultless, plentiful, with amazing flavours in every course and accompanying wine superb. We all agreed that the staff made us feel relaxed and welcome, nothing was too much trouble. Service was efficient. Great atmosphere. Our waitress Georgia I want to mention, what a great young gal, looked after us with a smile, a laugh and a cracking sense of humour. This will now be my go to pub to bring friends and family. Again, just wow. 🙏🥰 We were greeted by a waitress, possibly the owner who told us there was a wedding party arriving shortly. This gave us the feeling of being unwelcome. I informed her that we had called an hour earlier to book a table and we weren't told this when we called. Maybe a hello or welcome would be a nicer way to greet your customers in future ! The place didn't seem to be very well run as you get shown to a table, but then rather than a waitress coming and taking your order you have to try to flag down a waitress when you are ready to order and it took us around minutes to be achieve this. In the meantime we decided to go to the bar to order our drinks. We found the food to be fairly average. The price for a and chips is £18 and if you want some bacon in your then its £2 extra. £20 seems fairly expensive for a mediocre and chips. After your meal you need to go back to the bar to pay your bill. They only had one till at the bar and there was a long cue of wedding guests waiting to place drink orders, so it took us a while to pay our bill. When we went to pay we noticed they add a 10% service charge to your bill and we were informed this was because they provided us with table service. We asked for this to be removed as we thought £50 for a and chips, a pizza and 2 drinks was already a fairly expensive lunch The setting by the river is nice and the waitresses who came and took our food order was very friendly. It was just a shame about the greeting we received and the cost of the food and drinks. I don't think we would go there for lunch again We were welcomed with a smile and seated immediately. We had the pie of the day and it was delicious! The atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming, they even gave out snacks to people’s dogs and the team of waiters were all beautiful and nice young people. Will come back if I ever find myself in this area again. Poor quality food - was not a smashed it was a poor quality supermarket straight out of freezer burger. Pizza from Pizza oven came out burnt (not charred). And it was actually served. No standards unfortunately. Need to give it a miss. Shame as this pub must rely on its location to survive.
