Traveling to Cornwall we have stopped in this beautiful shop situated by the road next to a petrol station. It was very easy to park in front and they have tables outside and they are clean. The shop inside is like heaven, all nice and well prepared. The shelves are really full and they have a bit of everything. When we arrived at the coffee shop we really opened our eyes with surprise, everything looked so yummy that we wanted to try all the delicious food exposed. The prices were good but the service was a bit sharp. Self-service is a really good idea but when you arrive at the till it isn't just to pay. Treating a human being it is nice to see a smile or eyes contact or a simple phrase that can make your day. Apart from that it is a very recommended place to go as the product is very good with a super quality and the prices reasonable. This is a nice little farm shop with a decent selection of locally produced products. The bakery all looks delicious, and if I wasn't being careful about what I eat, I could quite happily consume all of what is on offer here. This ship also has a good selection of beers, veg, and meats. This shop is quite pricey but all the products do look be be very high quality. A must stop to pick up something nice and tasty to take home or even to enjoy on your journey! Plenty of different selections from chutney, marmalade, crisps, flours… my favourite “great breads an pastries 🥐 “ Very clean and the staff are very nice Fabulous baked goods, we popped in on the way home too. I would recommend 2 tills as there was a long que, just to get a pastry and hot drink. People are buying groceries, which slows down the whole process. We will definitely get breakfast here, every time on the way down to Cornwall. Usual traffic on the A35 and fell on this lovely place by chance. Don’t drive past whatever you do. Fresh sandwiches and delicious pastries. We decided to stretch our legs from our campervan and eat on one of the few tables available. Many people ‘grab and go’ staff very friendly and courteous. I resisted the fabulous array of chutneys, soaps etc Refuelled, hydrated and happily on our way to the coast. Great cafe/bakery for products etc. a tip would be never to run out of bacon /sausages/breakfast pots by 11am as so many people want them throughout the day. And this was on a wet miserable quiet day and to be bruskly told well they do sell out early is a clue!!! Apart from that great place Just visited the Rise at Poundbury Christmas market and grabbed a pork and sage sausage roll for breakfast before the buyers arrive. I'd say it's hands down the meatiest sausage roll I've ever had! it was packed with delicious, well flavoured meat and a light crispy pastry. couldn't recommend highly enough!! I tried the white sourdough bread. £4.50 a loaf. Looked good though. Lovely and golden. I thought I would treat myself. Bought it before 9 am. Tough as old boots. My electric knife struggled to cut it into slices. Hard to eat too. Very dense. I bake bread for fun. Made some whopper mistakes but you don't expect this in a professional bakery. Bread baked too long with moisture level to low, maybe 60% or lower and no taste able fat, oil or butter added in measurable amounts. No glassing of the bread either. On the plus side, the pastry selection looked delicious. As a novice baker, we all have bad days. Maybe the flour was different from the usual. That can really effect the loaf.
