National Trust - Ringstead Bay

Not a great national trust site. The car is about a mile away from the beach, there are no facilities here. Yes it’s a nice enough to visit but it’s national trust only in name, don’t expect more. Scenic section of the Dorset coastline roughly midway between Lulworth Cove and Weymouth, with a large unspoilt shingle and great walks in both directions. The National Trust area (free for members) is a long from the beach, but well placed for stunning walks towards Durdle Door via White Nothe. In the opposite direction, a less challenging coastal path heads to Osmington Mills, with a pub and small coastal cascade. Ringstead Bay itself benefits from good of the chalk headland to the east, and Portland to the west. The remains of two WW2 pillboxes can be seen, adding some historical interest. There are no National Trust facilities at the bay, which has its own privately operated paid area (higher charges apply during the summer season for the convenience of close to the beach). Really beautiful spot on the jurassic coast. Free to enter just pay £6 for the car or free if you are a National Trust member. The down to the didn't take long but it was a bit steep at the end. There is also a lovely long from here to the village. Fab of the Dorset coastline and part of the Jurassic coastal path. Quite a steep shingle so something soft to sit on if you plan spending a long time enjoying the sunshine. Popular for those with water toys. from the top of the car are quite beautiful. The from the car down to the is also lovely, but it’s very steep, so you need to save some of your energy to get from the back up to the top of the car at the end of your day. Very pretty bay and beach. I parked in the national trust car and walked down the track past the farm, steep-ish back up though, but great exercise. There are toilets by the shop and a water bottle filling station. There's a combine toll and fee I think. I was there early in the morning so few people around. I am a National Trust member, so is free for me. What a delight. Beautiful views, can see Portland across the bay, unspoilt area. I can see the Chesil bank from my spot too. Impressive, before I start to explore. We parked to over look the bay. £1.50 for an hour unless National Trust member. (Although the day we visited the machine wasn't working). Lane leading up is narrow in places so be prepared to reverse to a passing place. Lovely restful place to stop and admire the view. Watch the sheep and the boats in the bay below. Free here for National Trust members or pay by phone at the meter. You can follow the way markers to do a circular walk. It takes you along the coast path and down to the at Ringstead Bay. Spectacular so well worth the effort. The took me 2 hours and 15 minutes to complete, there's also and a small cafe by the beach. Great views, pebbled sea is very clear ! Carpark was 6 pound and they have a cafe not far from the beach. Great cafe, paid near beach. Well worth a visit. Not Too busy, even though it was a weekend. Rockey beach. We used the private car and it was £6 for the whole day. A stunningly beautiful beach, we felt very lucky to visit it. Highly recommend. Can the dogs there and there are also sandy spots along the pebble where you can have a nice paddle. The car is a two minute from this bay you pay £6 for the toll road but can all day. Absolutely stunning beautiful unspoilt beach, quiet, calm for a swim, coastal walks, dog friendly and paddle boarding activities keeps running through out.
