Arrived to find of exact specification and in excellent condition, and then had a perfect guide, who was patient and gave clear and helpful instructions in terms of terrain and hazards. The itself was spectacular and highly recommended. Stunning scenery with a nice lunch stop up in Fataga. The with e-bikes was very manageable - still a good work out though. Would definitely recommend this company and do other guided tours with them. I rented Merida Scultura Endurance for a day and the was in a perfect condition. I appreciate that you also get a spare tube and multitool with every rental. Bart Bonne is a legend! Booked a called the “Pico Summit Challenge”. The guide was Bart, who for me was by a long way, the very best cyclist I have ever had the pleasure of riding with. He was so professional in his demeanour, and extremely patient. I learned so much from Bart on the day. How to climb effectively, and his descending skills were a sight to behold! As we rode up to the high point of the island, Bart was giving out commentary on the upcoming stages of the route, the turns we would be making, and most importantly of all, how much elevation and distance to go for every section. We stopped for a light lunch before reaching the summit of the island. Views were incredible and the return route back, watching Bart navigate the turns of the descent was pure class. Free Motion arrange a lot of tours with different route options and climbing challenges. I rode just under 100km with Bart and that took from 09:30 until 3pm. There were other tours guides, so no guarantee you’ll with Bart. But if you do you’re in for a real treat. An amazing cyclist who helped me enjoy an unforgettable on the day. Awesome with some emergency repairs my own today. Zoltan, the mechanic is an absolute Prince. He knows a lot about Trek bikes, which is what I have - so he not only mended the sheared off bolt on my stem - he upgraded the other bolts and taught us a few tips for maintenance. Also, while he was drilling out the old bolt in my stem, he just lent me another stem so I could still today. So cool! Rented two different MTB across my visit in Gran Canaria. Staff were very accommodating and helpful as I just walked in from the street. Arranged I needed delivered from different branch within 20 mins due to high demand. themselves were good and I enjoyed climbs and off option in the mountains. technicians were also super helpful to adjust for my weight and suspension needs. All went extremely well, happy customer! Only downside or perhaps something to be aware of - during high season you need to return at the end of hire day rather next morning. I stayed hour drive away and it made my plans bit more restricted but not an issue. 3rd time I rented a mountainbike there, twice in Lanzarote and now here. It is a shop, not one of those rental places you will find everywhere. They rent good material, in good condition, well maintained, have good service and staff. I had a flat tyre, luckily they provide the necessary material to fix it yourself, but as there was a big tear in the tyre and I could not get it on straight I went to the and they replaced it in 15 minutes with no hassle. Basically Free Motion is responsable for a lot of kilometers I rode through the beautiful Canarian landscapes, looking forward to the next time. Excelent!!! I rented online a bike; when I came to the to pick it up, in 2 minutes I was on the bike. Everything was fitted perfectly on my size; I had no pains whatsoever after long hours in the saddle (8h first day, 5h second). The was fresh clean, shifted perfectly through gears, great braking, no weird noises. When I came back to return it, I missed the opening hours by 10 minutes but I was lucky to find a guy - probably the owner - to help me and all "paperwork" was done online; I didn't lose any time with it. The was in excellent condition, comfortable to ride, and perfect for exploring the beautiful area. The staff was incredibly and helpful, providing great recommendations for routes and ensuring I had everything I needed for a safe and enjoyable ride. This week I participated in three tours with the free motion crew with a rental bike. 🚴 I made my reservation in advance, my was already prepared for me, right pedals installed and the technician helped me with the saddle hight.👌 All three routes were very beautiful and as described online. Unfortunately on the royal stage to Pico I had an accident but I am very grateful the guides took care of me and made sure I am fine! Many thanks to Alex and Lars 🙏 On the last day I took it a bit more easy though in the Cappuccino group (no problem to do so). Depending on the route those switches are even possible during a tour. Also positive to mention that the guides took pictures for the group during the and sent them to everyone interested. The guides are very experienced and know the island very well. After every climb and descent we would regroup and they would describe the upcoming section. A keen but mainly leisurely, exploratory, day trip cyclist in the UK (average 30-50 quite hilly mile trips from home). I have recently gone electric (Specialized Creo Turbo). My partner & I booked a last minute escape holiday to a nice hotel in Melonares after a difficult year. I had no plan to cycle but whilst there I popped into the FreeMotion Melonares store on the spur of the moment and ended up booking a hire ebike (almost exactly the same as my own) and (after really helpful chats with the staff), a guided to Soria for the next day. It was a truly fabulous day for me - the absolute highlight of my holiday - I would have travelled to Gran Canaria just for that day. I cannot speak highly enough of everything to do with Free Motion and their staff (in my case a lovely Italian Lady) and our guide (Ewa) and all the other staff I encountered. I had no kit with me so had to buy shoes and clothes. I was a little nervous having never ridden in a group with serious ‘road riders’, I was advised to book the easiest 72 km ‘cappuccino’ route but that included a 1200m climb. I was the only e-bike and 20 years older than the other 7 folk on the tour. I opted for a range extender - just in case - and they provided helmet, lock and bottle. The fitted my new shoe cleats and I was to collect my shoes and at 8.30am the next morning. I was given a map to show me how to get to the FreeMotion store about 5 km away in Playa de Ingles where the was due to start at 9.30. Everything was ready and waiting when I arrived at the store at 8.30, and the excellent was adjusted to my saddle height and I cycled off Playa de Ingles excited, but a little nervous. There were quite a fit young (and a few less fit and less young) looking cyclists congregating as there were a number of and mountain tours starting there. It was very friendly. After 30 minutes our were loaded onto a trailer, and we were off on a coach for about 20 minutes to the start of the ride. On arrival, Ewa briefed us, asked permission to photo us on the and made me feel very comfortable and safe. Thereafter the was great. We started at the coast with a gentle climb that really ramped up as we turned off onto the classic, steep, winding, hairpin laden up into the mountains like those you see on the Grand Tours. I felt fitter than I expected, used only modest electric assist and kept up without a problem. Ewa, looked after us, teaching us the rules of the road, and shuttling between us, taking photos, as we all rode at our own pace. The landscape was amazing and the views increasingly dramatic. One guy had asthma and decided to take an easier route and meet us later which was handled without fuss. We regrouped at key points and it all felt very safe and the camaraderie grew between group members (all 30-50 year old Germans including one young woman, and they all spoke English so I would not feel excluded - lovely folk). We stopped at a very ‘authentic’ feeling cafe (Fernandos at Soria) for the local speciality of potatoes (!) and freshly squeezed mango and papaya juice and great expresso at 1 euro each - and refilled our water bottles. A fun descent - and then a classic peloton of about 30km taking it in turns to lead for one km at a pace that kept us all together - again - a first for me. I was concerned because we rode at about 35kph - over the 25kph where the e-assist cuts out, so I was on a heavier relying on my own power - but with the rests in the slipstream I felt very pleased to do my turns on the front - tho I knew I could skip my turn on the front if it felt too hard - so no stress. We finished with a beautiful run along the coast where I peeled off to my accommodation at Melonares and the rest carried on to Playa de Ingles - home by about 3pm. Ewa sent the great pics by email the next day. I great memento of a truly fabulous day. I am now planning holidays to repeat this as soon as possible. Brilliant hire - staff, considerate guides for groups, excellent that are superbly well maintained and a useful return deadline of 7pm - that last one really helped. I have no hesitation in recommending them. Absolutely fantastic service and hospitality! Whilst on a cycling holiday in Gran Canaria we encountered several random issues that were properly resolved, either by dealing in house or pointing us to another to help resolve the problem. This was our 5th year to hire from free motion. We previously had mountain but this year got bikes, in my case an e-road bike. The problem was charging the bike.We were staying in the mountains, in a small apartment up a narrow flight of outside stairs. My had a detachable battery which would have made everything very easy. However Free Motion declined to give the key saying it was policy, because of some issues with the batteries when they did this. This meant we had to carry a 25kg up stairs every evening , having to remove the front wheel each time because the steps were so narrow. It was a huge hassle. It’s a basic feature of heavy that the battery is removable, and if there are issues with that then Free motion needs to look at getting a different brand of bike. It caused us really serious inconvenience. Staff in the store were very inflexible about it. Very unhappy with the experience.
