Houffalize has earned a small place in my heart. Have been visiting this town for ever a decade. The atmosphere here has remained the same, as time has stood still. Nature of the Ardennes is one of a kind; raw, real, refreshing. Hiking, walking, fishing, mountainbike, racebike. Visit the local butcher for a Cote de L'os and throw it on the BBW. Exuisite! Very beautiful spot for hiking. Was here in 2018 and now again in september 2019 for a short visit. Also a nice spot for mountainbiken. In Houffalize you’ ll find a good place for motorhomes. Beatiful nature, despite the busy cities la roche and houffalize, the nature is nice and quiet I don't know how to explain it. I didn't think it would be 12km. They didn't tell me. Mind you, I actually /can't/ walk for that long. I thought it would be 6km. So the first 6km was a breeze. I loved the view and it was so beautiful. But than. I got a little tired. But I still went on knowing it wouldn't be long. Than it hits. They said it's 12km and I'm like oh god... Sure. I'll do it! My girlfriend was also getting really tired. But we pressed on. Views still really beautiful but it became dreadful. It was getting so heavy and difficult to press on. I needed to go on with pushing my girlfriend on the side. But at the end. We got back. I was happy. I was proud. 12km done. With beautiful views. It's worth it when you can do long walks that go up and down! I'm really glad I did it. But never again! Nice park. The main walking hike is 13 km, which took us about 3 hours. It is kind of popular, so we walked with quite a crowd.
