I would not recommend this place to anyone staying for a short period of time nor anyone expecting any hosting of any sort. We arrived on a cold (3 degrees, and foggy ) afternoon, to a freezing entrance and hallway, to an empty place. We were told to go to our room where we’d find the keys. That’s it. Any tea or way to make something hot, anywhere? No. Any water? No. The lady said she was working, then watching a match. I suppose her clients were tertiary. She was kind enough to tell us to go up the road to the store and get what we needed She must have heard on the phone that I was miffed. Here we were freezing after a long drive and all she could do was say” sort it out yourself”. Finally she said we could take a bottle from the fridge to have something to drink. How generous ( this is after she charge us 10% more than what was posted o her website). Then at , thought to charge us for it. I’ve never been to a bed a where you are not welcomed, and given the opportunity to have something to drink upon arrival. I travel a lot and there is always at least a tea kettle and some tea and instant coffee, sugar and creamer. The bed was awful. In the photo it looked like a double bed, but when we got here it wasn’t at most a 140x190 cms. The headboard was 160, but they’d plunked a smaller bed in front. For my husband and me it was tight. None of our group slept well. The pillows soooo uncomfortable; a synthetic blob that my head kept rolling off. The rooms are ok but we didn’t pay to stare at the furniture. There is minimum of comfort you give your clients. Further, their “superb” was cold croissants, bread and yogurt. I’m never going back and would not recommend this place to anyone. Great experience in this thoroughly renovated period country house. Quirky Asian-themed décor was unexpected but right up our alley. Good breakfast, friendly and welcoming owner who was very accommodating. Picturesque location among vineyards and little villages - a bit difficult to get to without a car (even taxis are rare/expensive), but very close to a wedding venue we were attending. Bear in mind that while the bathroom (shower) is private (not ensuite though), the toilet is shared with the live-in owners. So not ideal if you require full privacy. 4.5 stars, rounding up to 5 because of the pleasant atmosphere and great window views. Beautiful accommodation and lovely breakfast. Lovely host very welcoming to us with our young children. Family room fantastic size with air conditioning. Absolutely enchanting stay at Bambina's! The first thing that strikes you is the stunning panoramic view of the Mâconais and Beaujolais valleys and the charming village of Leynes – truly magical. It honestly feels like stepping into a Tolkien-esque landscape with the neat vineyards, picturesque views, and stone houses with gentle smoke rising from their chimneys. Bambina herself is an absolute delight! Her warm welcome, genuine kindness, and contagious smile immediately put us at ease. She thoughtfully showed us around and shared fascinating stories about her time living in Japan. The rooms are immaculately cared for, with beautiful Japanese-inspired furnishings that create a unique and lovely blend of the 17th-century French architecture and oriental design. The abundant breakfast, featuring exquisite croissants from the local artisan bakery in Leynes, was a perfect start to the day, providing energy for exploring the area. The location is fantastic for activities! We enjoyed walking, and there are opportunities for climbing nearby rocks and cycling. For wine lovers, the proximity to many artisan wineries offering excellent and delicious wines is a huge plus. Highly recommended! Thank you, Bambina, for a truly memorable experience. Great place to rest and recover with amazing views of the vineyards and a host who is ever so kind! Bambina is a marvellous hostess- very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We stayed in the studio which is very clean, well appointed, comfortable bed, and charming decor. The studio does not have air conditioning but Bambina quickly found us a fan and that was sufficient. Croissants, baguette, homemade jams, yogurt, fresh fruit and cheese for breakfast. This is our second time to visit and we will be back.
