We came here twice during our 1 week in Bogni di Lucca. We enjoyed all our dishes, but especially the pizza that we were allowed the customise. We opted to have burrata with prosciutto cotto. We ate this pizza on both of visits. Another favourite is the gnocchi with shellfish. Simply delicious! Service is friendly, and no problem if you don’t speak Italian like us. The tourist menu at euros has to be seen to be believed. A choice of 5 primi , 5 secondi , half a bottle of wine and half a bottle of water, the dishes authentic locally produced and more like those from Nonna's kitchen than an impersonal ristorante. The coffee is extra and is very good. Go and enjoy a very special experience. We didn’t have a particularly great experience. My wife and I both are fluent in italian and really gave our everything but the waitress was so rude, that we felt almost as if we had offended them. Our waitress nearly smashed the food and condiments on our table, we never got a thank you or you’re welcome and after I said Grazie when she put the plate down, she rolled her eyes at us. Maybe she had a bad day, but this really was too much. This was - and I hate to say this - the worst service I experienced in italy. The food was okay, but you could clearly see that the Pasta wasn’t homemade as advertised in the menu. Also the carpaccio looked like it was simply from a package.
