Worth a trip, absolutely. Take the guided for 8 euro. Includes 2 glasses. Tours start at 3:30 and 4:30. More frequently in the weekend. The lady running the tours is very knowledgeable and friendly- you can also pick up an audio guide for explanations in other languages other than French. From Auxerre city centre you can cycle with the e-bikes (AuxR_M le vélo) to get here (there's no charging station nearby but seemed fine to park the bikes for a bit) What an experience. Very very impressive, lovely and cool inside. Absolutely worth it! We did the super interesting guided tour, this place had a good audio guide and the guide spoke English and German besides French, so she could translate the more complex parts of the story. The was nice and we returned the next day to try more and pick a box and a few bottles of to bring home. The cremant is delicious! Huuuuuge full of to taste and purchase 😍 I'm not a expert/lover, but just the of walking into the and seeing all the was fascinating! The was also very enjoyable, you get to try all sorts of wines, and the staff are very knowledgeable and approachable 🫶🏼 There seems to be plenty of parking, both on the way up the hill to the cave, and you can drive into the as well. Entrance and is free, no need to buy tickets, just get ready to buy some good and affordable 😛 So you think to yourself “I’m gonna do a activity, it’s gonna be nice” and then you try to find something close by. And you find this one and you visit. And then you are completely blown away because you enter a (technically, it is an old quary), you are surrounded by 4-6 millions of wine/ champagne bottles and you do an amazing learning about the whole process from a grape to your glass. In the end you can try various wines. The prices are very reasonable as well. Thank you so much for the amazing experience! Really cool place to buy and drink some very good “crémant” made the Champagne way, can’t be called Champagne as it’s not made in the Champagne region. But nonetheless it’s as good as Champagne. They also have wines. Their bar area is so insolite and very nice, there’s no seating area. They sample their easily (rare in France to get free samples of any kinds). I was hesitating between 2 and the bartender/sales person offered for me to try them. And it’s not just a sip, it’s a full glass. The of the cellar is interesting, not too long and you learn some cool facts. The is 6€ / person and you get 2 glasses of crémant at the end and you also get to keep your glass as a souvenir. The personal at the bar/selling area is very nice and of good advice. Great tour, friendly staff, lot to discover. Amazing value for money. Interesting, impressive & educational visit. Definitely an experience! Very friendly and helpful people. Worth a visit! I had an amazing at Les Caves Bailly Lapierre! The $6 was well worth it – it lasted around 1 hour and provided a detailed step-by-step explanation of the production process, all while guiding us through their fascinating cellar. 2 of their sparkling was a highlight; they offer great value for money. The complimentary souvenir glasses were a thoughtful touch. Highly recommend this tour! Made a detour en route home especially to top up on the amazing wine. Cycled up last year and only managed 6 bottles in the panniers. This time 3 boxes and a magnum 🤭 Truly a great experience. 8 euro for a of the winery caves and a tasting! Everyone was so accommodating and the were delicious A surprise find that was a fantastic experience. Young lady offering the was very informative and fun to communicate with. Young gentleman serving at the counter was more than happy to allow us to taste their product. Something not to miss An outstanding place where you park inside the caves themselves without problem. You have to sample the (first bottle was free) and of course bring some back to the UK as the prices were amazing, so allow plenty of room in your vehicle.
