Really rude, unhelpful staff. Especially eyelashes. The lockers only accept old pound coins (what?!?!?) or the tokens you use in trolleys. They don't have any old pound coins to lend you and charge £2 for a trolley token. We were overcharged for the and then they tried to overcharge for the gym. One of my sons was ill and they did refund his to be fair. A young lad lost his apple watch and eyelashes came out to my sons in the car park and asked if they'd taken it, which they hadn't. Then she had the cheek to take a photo of my son's car "just in case". When I saw YMCA associated with the pool I was more than happy to give them my money but the service we received was appalling Look forward to going to this place. Nice little place. I tend to go swimming, though. It's a really nice gym. Good, friendly, approachable staff, nice atmosphere, very few meat head show-offs but the odd weight dropper and hat wearer. Good quality and range of equipment, loads of classes, but the showers need improving, big time. Just undergoing a bit of a refurb, so small improvements around the place. Really enjoyed the spa journey. Went for a birthday treat, found the facilities to be clean, well maintained and easy to use. The very helpful in explaining the different parts of the spa journey and it's benefits. Very good value for money. Would go again. Quiet and relaxed. Machines are a bit dated but I got a no attitude vibe. Not been for a while but at least 4 broken machines in the gym this morning. Its in a great area but unfortunately it has a few negative features Firstly the spa is no longer there. The showers are useless because the head is too high and points over the top of you and there are no hooks to hang your towel. There are only two showers with doors and two open ones which makes me feel very uncomfortable There are some and Leigh is, although very erratic, is very friendly, helpful and a great instructor. The biggest downfall is a lot of classes take over the TRX training equipment etc in what is already a very small gym. There are lots of cardio equipment and free weights station. But unfortunately the free weights are taken up by men and training equipment is very limited so it's hard to get on any of it. The studio is big and has lots of classes. Unfortunately if I hadn't set up a contract I would probably try to find another gym. I would try the Thornton gym but I'm having to fit in the gym with my split shifts at work 😕 always and helpful, great instructors taking varied and fun classes which really hit the spot, pool always clean and lovely and warm, gym etc seems well equipt and plenty of parking - oh and a really user app for bookings etc🏋🏊‍♂️🧘‍♀️ Very informative and helpful The Gym is rather small, however it is relatively quiet compared to the other branches. The are all extremely polite and accommodating, Leigh is the standout of the bunch! She's extremely helpful and a genuine asset to the company. Clean and nice gym with well lit car park. Efficient Hav Had full family membership. I am paying over £100. Been told different things when joined but totally opposite after signing up. Today we came all the way from Garstang to poulton for kids swiming. A worker who scanned our member cards told us “yes it is public swimming”. After settling in, changed the cloths. Then one of worker told us no public till 8 while we scanned our cards before 6. I mean if there is no public then why let us in. My kids are 3 and 12 and they both now have a bad day. I am not going to continue pay £119 for nothing. Going to register my complaint with YMCA administration. Have been asked for the names but never provided the names who scanned our cards and who dealt with us. This is very serious matter in respect of customer dealing and false information been spreading around just to get more members. Some people dont bother to pay even 1000 for nothing but for a middle class worker, who worked all day hard to provide basic things to its family, cant afford to pay for nothing. And YMCA community should raise their eyebrows on this unjustified action and also they have to compile all the complaints to avoid future complaints and trained i mean fully trained its without any favors. I use the gym facilities at the YMCA and I like the place and enjoy using the facilities when I go the management and I find that the really nice to talk to and approachable Leigh who's the on site fitness instructor invests a lot of her time into the YMCA and helping others and fitness goals and I like her personally she's like a breath of fresh air The facilities are clean and tidy and again the management and are supurb I really like coming here The upper management, treat their very poorly as I have seen with my own eyes. This needs to be further investigated by YMCA. Lifeguards look disinterested in the swimmers and would rather be elsewhere. Cleaning needs better work as it looks like the managers are never there to look at what is going on.
