Took my nippers on Sunday morning for a swim. It was nicely quiet. I thought it a little expensive but there you have it. My youngest was a little annoyed as the lifeguard wouldn't let her out of the tiny shallow end that was roped off as he didn't think she was a strong swimmer. She was as strong as other children but there you have it. Great place for families! Offers a variety of classes, including gymnastics, on Saturday mornings. Friendly staff and convenient hours. Full of modern gym equipment and beautiful facilities. Only a handful of years ago, the swimming and gym was left open later, so this is the only reason for a lower rating. If the times do suit you, however, this is an incredible location with wonderful, helpful staff. The gym is fully kitted out and there is a single swimming pool, with a deep end, shallower end and a children's section. No sauna/jacuzzi on site - not that its an issue. I used to love halo and what they had to offer, but it seems in recent years the facilities have declined and the prices dramatically inclined. Opening hours are not the greatest over the weekend making it harder for the average family to attend the gym and classes. Membership is pretty high for what they have to offer. Swimming pool is cold and no heating in drying area, with doors that open and let in all the outside air, it’s pretty cold for us adults, my son literally dithers hence we cancelled swimming lessons. It was too cold and not enough parent/family changing areas. And what are there are really not the cleanest. The jump in gym is filthy.! The equipment and the seating area. Fans are full of dust and cobwebs, as are skirting boards. floors needing a good hoover and mop. As a family we were spending well over £100 a month and found the state of the place, the lack of staff and the general facilities just weren’t worth it. Such a shame Regularly taken my toddler to the soft play at Halo which is great.
