Getting here from Brussels is so easy by SNCB train with a quick change at Namur. As this is a winter visit, it's quiet however the many candles with dancing lights in front of our beautiful lady of the golden heart tells otherwise. We had the whole Chapel of adoration to ourselves for a while but then, it was time for the Blessed Sacrament to be displayed at 2pm. Mass 1030hrs was already over hence visitors who come in the afternoon enjoyed some Heavenly presence of our Lord. Most of the restaurants were closed but the well stocked gift shop stayed open. Toilets are few. Fortunately the public toilet at the sanctuary served weary travellers. In the end, the bakery section at Carrefour saved the day. Though i spend less than 2 hours I feel I bring Mary with me when I left the place. Great place to have lunch here . Do support the cafe on site. The parish priest allowed us to pray at the chapel and even asked if we want to view a documentary about the apparitions in Beauraing. Fr. Stefan showed us a short video presentation in the souvenir shop, which was apparently already closed since we arrived late in the day. They were most accommodating, warm, and welcoming. Having been to Lourdes and Fatima, I was very surprised that Beauraing wasn't just as well known. It's a quiet place, no distractions like in Lourdes with all the shops that you need to go through before arriving to the grotto. You park the car on the side of the road and you're just next to the very spot our Lady appeared! Perhaps it should stay that way but that would be not being able to share the messages of our Lady to the 5 children. I highly recommend. The rosary is said everyday at 6.30pm. Check out the website for church services. Pope John Paul went there. Parking available. Easy to get to. No admission fee. Very peaceful, calming and holy. a place to think about everything It’s a very Holy and beautiful place. The Sisters run the Information center and they are very nice. There is a small Chapel with daily Eucharistic Adoration from 2:00 pm. Confession is also available. Gift shops just across the street. I love this place and looking forward to return to this place more often. Easy to park and quickly light a candle. The church is hideous. A modern block church, awful!
