Łatwa trasa i piękne widoki A very easy 2 hour levada to the waterfall and back. It is worth more than other levades Tu sme zaparkovali pri ceste odkiaľ sme sa vydali na trasu Levada Nova. Good views, levada had been drained for cleaning which is usually done prior to April and some clearing of deitrus had been done so pathway was muddy in places. Sections of pathway close to sheer drop without handrails but safe enough with care . I enjoyed the two hours walk Very beautiful levada rout with few waterfalls Very nice walk with beautiful views! My favorite hike so far in Madeira. A combination of beautiful and a wonderful hiking experience. There were few other hikers, the trail was lush and it was interesting to have a mix of experiences: tunnel, waterfalls, levadas. There are many places where there are no guard rails and a sheer drop. So not for the faint of heart or for those with balance or mobility issues. Otherwise, I found it delightful and exciting! The trail was pretty flat with some elevation gain over a long distance ~ 5+ miles/ 8 km. An easy levada, yet wonderful during the walk in Candelaria and the Valley of Tanya. Great choice!! Easy hike if you are not afraid of heights. The more dangerous parts of the pathway have railings. Fantastic on a sunny day. Easy Levada with great views. Good for adults on a dry day. Vodopády i výhledy super, ale je to velmi nebezpečná cesta a rozhodně ji nedoporučuji nikomu se strachem z výšek a určitě bych tam nebrala děti. If you're visiting for only a few days, it's not really worth spending your limited time on this trail unless you're a serious hiking enthusiast. However, you can make it more worthwhile by continuing along the Levada Moinho and forming a loop, which adds variety and makes the hike more fulfilling. The surrounding nature is pleasant, but there are more impressive levadas on the island if you're short on time. To go to the Nova and Moinho Waterfall you need to go upstream from this point. It’s a 6 kilometres walk approximately, it is almost flat all along. When going to a normal pace without stopping it takes about 1h15 to go one way. At some stage you’ll have to stop following the levada as it goes through a private property. There you’ll have to go up the stairs. After the stairs, go to your left (the road is going slightly down) until the next crossroad. At the crossroad you’ll see some stairs going up just to your right and then you are on the path again. If 1h15 is too long for you, the path is going through « Levada Nova - Ponta Do Sol », from there it is only 45 minutes to the waterfall. Don’t forget to bring a flashlight and enjoy!
