Nice pub with very special and creative food. There no fix menu because its changing every day. We had a very good "fake chicken" out of soya. It not only tasted good also the size was more than enough. Good drinks, nice Ambiente and very nice service. Quiet spot for romantic dinner.. we went allowed to eat upstairs which was a shame but the staff were brilliant, got to meet mak the parrot too. Get the couch upstairs for the best sunset views. Great place to watch the sunset. The Fruit Caipirihna was excellent, the steak and the fish were delicious as well. I wouldn't reorder the octopus salad, it was ordinary and plenty of places make better ones on the island. The thing I disliked most with this place was the lack of a menu. The waiter comes to your table and lists every plate they have and ask you to choose on the spot. I almost ordered a lobster risotto based on her description, but fortunately I asked the price and was shocked at the 85 € price tag. Maktub Pub is a MUST while you’re in Madeira. Genuine island vibes, the best food we ate all week and the friendliest service (shout out to Joanna). All topped off with a stunning sunset and their iconic Moscow Mule cocktail! Amazing food! Definitely the best we have had yet on this island. Perfect spot to have dinner and then watch the sunset. The owner is very nice and personable. This was my husband and I's honeymoon and the last night we had we came here and this gave us the perfect ending to our trip! Recommend trying the tomahawk steak as pictured! Would highly recommend to anyone wanting an exceptional experience. Best steak I've ever tried! We had steak and fish, both about 27-28 EUR and side dishes with rice, sweet potato, zuccini etc. included. And great sangria ! Perfect restaurant for cocktails and food. The vibe is very nice, the music, the ambiance… The people are very pretty in and out. It feels just like Outer banks! This place is simply amazing. The food not just looked good, but was probably the best I’ve tasted in Portugal so far. It tasted fresh and was season perfectly! They seem to have small menu that is made according to ingredients they have in the time, but there is something for everyone. The staff was very nice and friendly and created making experience for us. Recommend 11/10!
