Great little place to grab a meal when you go hiking here. Tasty food, clean, and prices are fair for being in such a remote spot. Very pretty spot with nice interior and great outdoor patios. We stopped here before our hike in Rabaçal — a nice little café with a good selection of snacks. The prices are slightly on the higher side, but totally reasonable considering it’s the only café in the area and it’s up in the mountains. The coffee was classic Portuguese (I had a bica and a galão) — just what you need to start the day. The sandwiches were tasty and warmed up before serving, which was perfect to fuel up before the trail. We also tried the ice cream — surprisingly good! Overall, a decent spot. I’d recommend stopping by before or after your hike to grab a bite. The spinach quiche and pastel de nata are very good. The place is a bit pricey, but it’s worth it for a once-in-a-lifetime visit, especially with its beautiful views. Awesome waystation to stop for a break just before hitting the final stretch back up the hill (or on the way down!). Birds are either annoying or entertaining depending on how hungry you are. They will steal potato chips right off your plate or from your fingers. I stepped in to grab a drink and the table next to me were kind enough to defend my sandwich... the birds were determined to take the top piece of bread. Best not to feed them.... but I think it's too late for that. It is a very expensive place, but the food is very good. We particularly enjoy the traditional steak sandwich. Killer view, can be windy on the balcony so hang onto your belongings and Pepsi cans. Bring small change for the washroom (you can exchange larger denominations at the bar) great location to enjoy food & coffee after/before the PR6 (6.1, 6.3… etc) a bit overpriced compared to what you’ll find on the island but it’s understandable considering the location! the staff was really nice, thanks ! Want to get close to the nature? Then take your hiking gear and move on the PR6 - Levada 25 fontes. You will start it at this Nature Spot Cafe and you will not regret. Once you sit down at the terrace, lot of Madeiran birds will come to greet you there. They are used to people, and despite the warnings of not feeding the wildlife, I know that no one will resist to give them a bit of your cake. And to not forget to mention, the coffee is great and those sweet cakes are definitely a must have ♥️. 13/10 cafe! Perfect spot to rest after visiting 25 Levados and Risco Waterfall. The cafe has the best cappuccino, pasteries are top class! The pastelito de Nata were the best I’ve had (and my aunt is Madeirain and makes these also)! The lemon tart was amazing! A bunch of juice options. They have icecream. All in all a must visit when hiking PR6+6.1 Very nice, well designed place. Expensive one. We took pastel de nata, mashrooms and tomates quiche. Pastel de nata homemade and very crispy.
