My wife and I came here for dinner and we had a really nice time. Neil and the team were very friendly, polite and respectful. All of them were really nice. The food was really tasty. We had calamari, parmesan chips, lamb shank, seafood paella & sticky toffee pudding. We can see they put a lot of effort into making and serving food nicely. The atmosphere is quite cosy too. Not quite sure the pints i got were actually full pints.. hmm Neil was wonderful. The architecture and refurbishment is beautiful. Came here after a hike for a pint. Came back the next day for lunch. The food was overpriced for what it was, which really impacted the overall experience. There was also a limited selection for vegetarians. While the service was good and the staff friendly, the food didn’t quite live up to expectations. The truffle risotto lacked any real truffle flavor, and the Buddha bowl was missing plantain. When we asked for ketchup, we got two huge ramekins of a cheap, vinegary ketchup that tasted like something you'd find at a kids' play center. Not great—just use proper ketchup next time. We came here about a year ago and found it really good, so we decided to come back however unfortunately this time there was a mix up with our order and they brought the wrong thing, it also took quite a while for the food to come out and unfortunately I had asked for my steak cooked rare but it came more like medium or well done which was disappointing, however the waiter apologised and they gave us sushi as an apology. Overall it wasn’t as good as I remembered it to be a year ago but it was still good “A true gem in Barnack! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the well-seated, calm atmosphere—it’s a peaceful space perfect for enjoying a meal without any rush. The service was excellent, with attentive staff who made sure everything was just right. The parking area is spacious and convenient, adding to the overall stress-free experience. As for the food, it was absolutely delicious—flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. A perfect dining experience all around. Definitely deserving of a 5-star rating! Highly recommend! I booked a table for 10 adults and 3 children, to celebrate my mums 80th birthday. We were in a private room which had plenty of space to move around in. From when we arrived and until we left the staff were so friendly and helpful. The menu has a great choice and the food was fabulous. We were not rushed and able to spend time together. We will definitely be returning.
