We popped in on the off chance for the Sunday carvery. It was so busy that we were lucky to get a table! No wonder it was so busy as the food and were excellent. The meats and veg were cooked to perfection. If we are in the area again we will definitely return. We're not local to this pub, but we have found ourselves eating in it twice now, and it is a really welcoming place. The is great, the food is and we always feel very welcome with the locals. Visited for the first time this Sunday afternoon after having spied the Lilacs whilst out for a walk a couple of weeks previously. What a lovely place, a bit TARDIS like, it's bigger on the inside than it looks this is a really nice pub, with a big open airy restaurant and multiple outside spaces. The Sunday is good, not a wide selection, but everything on the appears to be well balanced and from our experience is done well. We had starters, carvery and dessert and all were lovely. The carvery was one of the best I've had, veg wasn't overcooked or dried out from being sat on the hot plate too long, the meat was juicy, tender and cooked nicely and the cauliflower cheese I could have eaten by the gallon. A delightful selection of desserts were on display in the cabinet, and the chocolate and cheesy mousse dessert I selected was beautiful, a rich deep flavour whilst still being light enough after a big meal. Topped it all off with a latte with Bailey's in and I was a happy man. The were all really friendly, and very attentive and helpful, was quick and came with smiles and personality. We're already looking at when we can return to try the regular evening and another of the cakes from the cabinet. Wow! What a find. The Lilacs is a place to meet friends and eat. From the location, the warm welcome to ordering food was truly excellent. Our food was delicious, well presented, hot and the chips were awesome 👌. We will be back very soon. Thank you to all at The Lilacs Called in for Saturday to see what The Lilacs was like. We booked in the morning and the approach during the call continued on arrival. Welcoming, and professional. The pub has a clean and comfortable feel with a selection of drinks at what appeared to be reasonable prices. We both had a delicious burger from the main menu. It was perfectly cooked and well presented. Other diners all seemed to be very happy with their meals. Portions are a size, and if you prefer there is a lighter menu. The is not overly extensive but definitely has a selection to meet most people. The seems well designed to keep the quality and freshness high. Its a pub and easy to end up chatting to other customers. Next will be for Sunday lunch. Although the pub is located in the heart of the village there is an excellent car park. Regular buses 10 minutes walk away and plenty of rural walks from the doorstep. Popped in for lunch, was very friendly, opted for the jerk chicken kebab with garlic mayo, served with chips. Tasty and reasonably priced. The meal with a drink came to £18, I'd definitely eat here again. Really enjoyed our here met up with 4 of our close friends. A very deceptive establishment a real hidden gem, we received a welcome, it was reasonably quiet but quickly filled up , are very and helpful, the meals were great, plates full and really tasty, we all chose different meals so saw a range of the menu. More seating than there looks, sized free car park. Most definitely worth a visit. Went for a weekday with friends and thoroughly enjoyed it. The are friendly, and the is above and beyond. The food is and locally sourced and at a reasonable price. Will definitely again in the not too distant future. Absolutely beautiful little pub tucked away with a nice quiet atmosphere. Started coming here once a week with ENLROC and what a place, the are always friendly, the food is stunning and reasonably priced too. We went for the first time for dinner on Saturday 15th March. Loved it. Food was delicious, impeccable and the owner and are super friendly. Back at lunchtime on Tuesday 18th for coffee and cake. Everything was as before. We've booked to come back for Sunday on 23rd. The Lilacs is now our favourite venue. Roll on Sunday. Beautiful and amazing pub. Food was delicious 😁 Thank you! I The Lilacs with three friends on a regular basis and we always have the steak meal. We enjoy the food, the relaxed atmosphere and the friendly, efficient staff. Yesterday I went with my Sister and her partner for the Sunday carvery and it was great. Carvery`s can be a bit hit and miss in my opinion, but the food and was on a different level yesterday. A proper Sunday with the meat and all the usual vegetables and trimmings cooked to perfection. Well done to all the for making us feel so welcome. Looking forward to the next Went in for a carvery with my wife and kids and I genuinely could not fault a single thing! The were so kind and as well as attentive! The food was incredible, decent prices and a really nice atmosphere! Would highly recommend and will 100% be back again Lovely atmosphere and family run. Delicious food and not expensive at all. Especially considering the large portions served. When I visited there was a act singing songs. I had a thoroughly enjoyable night and will definitely be returning again and again. Nice to find a 'proper' pub for a change. Having lived in the area for 25 years I have never been to this pub in a local village. A friend suggested meeting here for dinner. The was exceptional, the food was amazing (I judge food by the chips and they were chunky and plentiful!) We had the special which was a beef stew and it was delicious. The lady that served us was a little gem. I would highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back.
