All in all it's a steal for only 5€. The place is very interesting. Need to be physically fit to the itself. Cost €5 per person to the furnace. Students aged 26 and below have free admission. The is 40m high, with lots of steps. Sadly, all the information is written in French. There is no English translation at all. Great tour if you are not afraid of heights. You start at ground level and then work your way up. We used the stairs but there is also an elevator available. At each level, you'll find signs with explanations (texts are all in French only). Toilets can be found behind the ticket booth in the entrance area and there is a second booth where you can by tickets for the Möllerei museum which you can combine with a ticket to the Skip museum. There are several restaurants, bars and coffee shops nearby as well as a mall. On-street parking is available but scarce. It might be better to use the park-and-ride option at the train station or you stay outside of Esch-sur-Alzette and use the free bus to Belval. We came here with our 4 y.o. son and were surprised by how amazing the industrial elements suit the city scene and how well everything is organized. The views are breathtaking, the museum is great, also there is a possibility to climb up all the stairs (there are elevators available as well) or investigate the site. The staff is very friendly, also there are quests and brochures with puzzles available for kids (for quests check their web-site, brochures are available at the entrance). A great place to spend the weekend with kids! Truly an unique experience (at least it was for me) to discover this former industrial “city”. It is impressive what humans can build. My first to a blast furnace. This one was huge and very interesting. At each landing they had a photo of the process that happens at that position, however a little more explanation and an English translated version would have been nice. Overall a very different place in Luxembourg. Awesome location, very high end architecture and impressive how the original buildings were incorporated into the new buildings. Stunning, absolutely stunning. What an amazing and brave decision to keep these as the center piece of the areas regeneration. €5 to climb and I loved it. You don't get to the top, but that's not a problem, you still see lots of interesting things, and the climb is fun (use the lift if you're scared of heights, walk if you're not as theirs more to see). It would have been nice if there was more description of what I was looking at. A must see and do in my opinion. the old (but renovated) blast furnaces at Belval, at the heart of this renewed district. Discover how they were working and the history of the region around this activity. If you have time, enjoy also the various streets where modern architecture mixes with historical heavy industry remains. A wonderful place to spend time and ! Great to see and a good viewpoint, but very few information displays that I saw and the map given of the place was not very clear, as were directions on the tour around.
