Really great atmosphere in the workhouse , amazing food ,can get very busy especially Saturday & Sunday mornings , but well worth the weight.the cakes & Pastries are excellent too Great for a treat. Nice selection of food, drinks and cakes. Tasty too. The only down side is you Couldn't really take the whole family there at the same time otherwise you may have to remortgage. You have to watch out for the "eat in" prices too. Nearly £1 extra per item to eat your food there which soon adds up if you have an average sized family. Absolutely delicious! We were spoiled for choice with a great selection of freshly made bakes, each one tastier than the last! 🧁 Paired it with a hot drink that clearly wasn’t your average cup, you could taste the quality in every sip We will definitely be back for more treats! Wife & I popped here for breakfast with our pup. She turned 3 today!!! We had sausage, cheese and chilli jam bap each and wow it was amazing. I had a flat white, wife had a hot chocolate, drinks were spot on well made and very nice. Our pup for her birthday had the Butchers sausage for her breakfast which went down a treat. Staff very welcoming, polite and always a pleasure to be around. We discovered The Workhouse about 12 months ago when searching for dog friendly places to have a bite in and around Northampton (properly dog friendly - somewhere that doesn’t chuck you in a different area or allow them on the furniture) and this place is a gem. It’s always packed which is testament to the amazing food, staff and atmosphere. The staff are always accommodating, happy and friendly which massively contributes to the lovely atmosphere’s here. You can tell they are an excellent team and work well together. The food is insanely good, it’s on another level! Their menu is small but they do everything to perfection. The cake counter is always full of amazing treats making it hard to choose what to take home. This place deserves more than 5 stars! Tip: Get there for opening time! We went out of our way to visit the workhouse and it was worth it. A beautiful building from the outside with interior just as lovely. Good coffee, amazing food and the sweet treats we took home with us were 10/10 too. Super quick and polite service despite it being really busy. It’s a shame you can’t book a table as we almost weren’t able to grab one and some parasols or awning to cover the tables outside would be good for rainy days. This was where me and my partner went on our first date on 1st November 2023. It was a great place for a date. Quiet enough to talk and get to know each other. Coffee was lovely, I had a cake which was lovely and a huge portion so I couldn’t actually finish it! Would definitely recommend it. It’s a bit far out for us to come regularly but I am thinking of booking in for the 2 yrs from our first date. What an absolute gem of an eatery! Visited on a busy Sunday afternoon and we had the most fantastic service. The lady at the counter was so patient with our indecision over the many choices of sweet treats! So delicious! We live nowhere near but will be back, it was that good!
