Oberża Pod Psem (wymagana rezerwacja)

Ruciane-Nida, Poland Restaurant

Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. Top quality food! Fresh, tasty and with a twist yet simple and often coming from homegrown vegetables. Additionally, lovely view of the nearby open-air museum. Only thing is, the manager seems to be too stressed about the reservations, which is impacting the peaceful athomosphe of the place. Excellent Polish authentic food, the service was great, the staff was very friendly and very helpful with the menus that was in Polish, English and Russian. Every dish we took - from the soups through the pork pierogi and the pork neck to the deserts - was extremely tasty. Recommend! :) Not worth the drive! Despite 3 free tables outside we could not sit even for a coffee. Boss lady said that they have more people that they can handle. Very rude trying to make place more elite-like then it is. Absolute perfection, beautiful space and exquisite food. Produce is local, food traditional and yet surprising. It’s one of those ‘destination restaurants’ well worth a long drive and perhaps a whole trip. Reserving in advance seems necessary. Come hungry- you will want to try several dishes. Dog's dinner! We came for a family meal and experienced the most unkind, obnoxious customer service of our lives. The place is full of "not allowed" signs, giving an unwelcoming first impression. The owners seem to hate guests and making them a favor when they finally arrive to take one's order. Despite booking the table well in advance, the owner has been surprised and impolite about our arrival time. She has made loud comments about guests on several tables. During dinner, the staff has moved our property off the table without asking (walking aid for disabled guest). Overall, the constant rude behavior towards all guests made the whole place feel like a funeral parlor. Embarrassing and infuriating experience, destroying the evening for all. Hospitality with a sneer! PS. The cynical reply of the owner below perfectly illustrates the alienating nature of this restaurant experience. If basic politeness becomes a "red carpet" treatment and the unpalatable atmosphere is "not our business", this might be renamed from "hospitality" to "hostility business". A sad story really... The woman who runs this restaurant is one of the rudest people I’ve ever encountered in hospitality. From the moment we arrived, she treated both customers and staff with open hostility. She barked orders at her workers, interrupted us mid-sentence, and made the whole visit feel like an inconvenience to her. The atmosphere was tense and uncomfortable — completely the opposite of what you’d expect from a countryside “oberża.” She struts around in her reading glasses like she’s some culinary authority, loudly accusing other restaurants of stealing her food ideas. Honestly, it felt more like ego than experience. If you think you’re dining at a charming local spot, think again — this place is all about her, not the guests. Maybe it’s time she considered retirement and let someone else run the place with a bit more humility and respect. And as if that wasn’t enough — the drive there is horrible. The road is in such bad condition that it’s basically closed. Don’t even think about going with a nice car unless you want to damage it. Just not worth the effort, or the attitude. Very bad atmosphere, not friendly owner- grumpy. Good food, small portions. Beautiful surroundings but the mood inside the place was bad.
