Classic Mackenzie! Contours, particularly on the are crazy even on a wet September afternoon. Can't imagine how it plays when it's hard and fast. Impressive old school with skysports ✅️ Not the longest course but definitely has some challenging holes and tricky to navigate. The course is set in beautiful countryside with panoramic and has been maintained to a very high standard. The are superb and some of the best I've ever played on. Fantastic course.. 👍 Very friendly welcoming staff. I will definitely be revisiting hopefully on a less windy day.😁 Cavendish Club, what a venue! A classic Alistair Mackenzie design, inspiration for other masterpieces. A must visit for any serious golfer that loves a challenge, history, vista's and total enjoyment. Friendly members, welcoming Pro, if you haven't booked or played a round here, add it to your must list. Amazing value this course. Paid £45 on a weekday. are amazing but it is windy One of the best courses in England and despite it's relatively short length it still offers a test of golf. The course has always been in impeccable shape whenever we've played there. The in the are welcoming with a nice selection of food and ales. The both from the and on the course are superb. Overall a brilliant day of can be had at Cavendish, however the weather can be brutal at times, so don't forget your waterproofs! Awesome course in lovely condition, perfect tees, manicured fairways and fast greens. Played 16th September 2025 in Seniors 4BBB. Tee 8:40 rained until 2pm. Course brilliant soft underfoot but still very playable. Very green after hottest summer on record. excellent, although wet they were still fast with big swings. Fairways & tees superb. and excellent. Food lovely and value. (£9.75 for Tuna mayo baguette) What a gem - truly a challenge Fantastic course!!! Playing at just under 6000 yards don’t let the par 68 fool you!! Designed by Dr Alastair Mckenzie ( Augusta National designer) the natural contours both on and off the green make this a fine challenge for all levels!! Playing off 4 this really is a challenge when it comes to course management and the fast tricky greens! The bonus of the course being surrounded by of the Peak District is an added extra. Playing on a nice day is a challenge so be prepared when the wind is up!! Enjoy! A fabulous course with beautiful everywhere you look. Some tee and pin positions pretty challenging but interesting. Only blot was an ignorant 4-ball in front creating a queue, which after 10 or 11 holes was pretty significant. No through either....clowns! Playing of mats has helped preserve fairways. Although because it’s not flat course this can also be tricky with borrowed mats. were decent but not overly quick and a bit long - it is December after all so can be forgiven. layout and picturesque par 3s. Would love to in its peak during the summer We had my Mum's wake here. The were lovely, very accommodating with our various requests, particularly for gluten free options. The food was excellent, a bit different to the usual buffet food. A lot of people commented how the food was. Plenty of it too. Would highly recommend. A wonderful Alistair Mackenzie designed course with a lovely and outdoor terrace. You can enjoy some great as you this varied layout and be tested by the undulating which are kept in great condition. You won't be disappointed! Great course food 10/10 welcomed with a smile , very courteous Fantastic course played in heavy winds was challenging but enjoyable will return and when less windy someday some A fantastic day at Cavendish GC. You can really see why this has been an inspiration for Augusta in certain areas of the course. Absolutely stunning throughout. We were shocked how quiet it was for a mid afternoon tee-time. Bunkers were beautiful, flour like almost. Fairways were well kept and the ball rolled beautifully. The were quick (my entire 4 ball doesn’t want to talk about the 3rd green lol). Some tricky par 3s but definitely a nice experience for all golfers. Highly recommend for the price. Absolute class. My friend and I played on a glorious Sunday afternoon in October, and it was perfect. I knew about the reputation of this course as ‘the inspiration for Augusta’ and it does deliver. Dr Alastair McKenzie knew what he was doing. Amazing from all corners of the course and despite the overall elevation, because the holes are carefully crafted into the tables of the terrain, it is a surprisingly walk. The (shoutout to assistant pro, Liam) are super helpful and make you feel very welcome. Great hospitality in the and you can enjoy watching players come in with a cold pint on the terrace. Cannot recommend highly enough and can’t wait to return next year. Proper course! Brilliant and friendly course couldn’t recommended it enough Played here for my birthday in October 2024 and had a great time. The course is great and very scenic. In addition, my dad was playing for the first time since an operation and the in pro shop and bar were very helpful. He's now keen to get out and again thanks to a to a experience here. What a fabulous course. Every hole was different and the were amazing. A very friendly clubhouse, everyone happy to help where possible and we were extremely lucky to be able to take our black labrador, Blue, with us. Would love to there again. Might even it a little differently especially the 15th par 3 ending up as an 11 after landing just off the green and then chipping on only to have the ball return to me again and again from their very nasty slope. Fast but in lovely condition.
