I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Davenport Arms, and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The food was nothing short of beautiful; each dish was not only expertly prepared but also presented with an artistry that made every bite a visual treat. The menu showcased a wonderful variety of flavors, and it was clear that fresh, high-quality ingredients were used in every recipe. The establishment itself was equally impressive. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with a clean and stylish decor that made for a comfortable dining experience. It was refreshing to see such attention to detail in maintaining a spotless environment, which added to the overall enjoyment of our meal. A special thank you to our server, Hope, who went above and beyond to ensure our experience was exceptional. Her attentiveness and positive attitude made us feel welcomed and well taken care of. Nothing was too much trouble for her, and she truly enhanced our dining experience. Overall, I highly recommend The Davenport Arms for anyone looking to enjoy beautifully crafted food in a lovely, clean setting. I can't wait to return! A lunch served from the £10 main menu. Staff were attentive and the food was beautifully cooked. Also, very nice beer garden with plenty of tables to eat at if you wish, some with shade. Impeccable night out. Delicious food and wonderful service. Highly recommend coming here. I had been here before for a drink, but not for food but so glad I have now addressed this as the food is simply fantastic. This really is restaurant food in a pub setting and cannot fault it. We had 3 different dishes and the feedback was the same from all of us. I had brisket that you could have eaten with a spoon it was so tender, the plate was perfect. The staff were also really good and the menu had variety, much better than your average pub menus. I will definately be back. Good steak, scotch egg, tomato soup, and brisket. Nice place for a few drinks or a family meal. Well recommended, would come again. This place is perfect. The decor, the layout, the food, service and staff are excellent. Our first visit for a while, Ben made us very welcome on arrival and had a chat as we left. The lunchtime £10 menu is great, of course we had a starter and sides too yet around £45 including coffees felt good value for a place with such an upmarket feel. I noticed a lounge too, nice spot for a pre drink. Recommended. Will definitely return. Quality of food is however the portion sizes are a bit inconsistent. I had fish and chips, which was a decent sized portion and came with all the trimmings you would expect with fish and chips, however my partner had brisket which was literally just a dollop of mash, with on top, a couple of tiny carrots and a few button mushrooms. It definitely needed more veg than that and my partner was left hungry at the end of the meal. My niece had an issue with her which was quickly rectified. I can't fault the staff, they are all so and attentive, I just think the portion sizes could be better. Overall I would recommend The Davenport. A find.... on entering we were greated with a smile and friendly staff all round. The found was amazing and certainly couldn't fault anything, if we have the opportunity we will definitely be making another stop here. Went last night and had 2x salt and pepper squid, spicy popcorn chicken, and pulled pork bao buns. All starters tasted great- only issue was the squid had three pieces of squid and then just a load of salad. Would probably have preferred more squid with it. We then had 2x fish and chips, duck breast, and the brisket. All portions were huge and tasted lovely. For dessert we had the lotus biscoff cheesecake, cheeseboard, and some mango sorbet. Again, all lovely. Food came out very quickly and the staff were very kind and attentive. We ended up spending £200 for 4 of us each having 3 courses and 2+ drinks Very nice homely building, spacious inside and out. Food was superb and even a menu for dogs. A decent selection of drinks. Staff were very polite and conversational. The outdoor space is in the warm weather but there is a log fire inside and nice decor for winter. evening at The Davenport Arms, starting with a warm welcome from Ben (front of house/mgr.) and matched by excellent service and delicious food thereafter. We had the braised brisket bourguignon and the mushroom stroganoff. The was simply superb; flavoursome and fall apart tender, the bourguignon sauce richly satisfying.. one of my favourite meals of the year! The stroganoff was unctuous and silky smooth, it paired excellently with the mushrooms. We left as very happy customers and will definitely visit again. Well worth a drive out into the countryside! Starters were but expensive considering the tiny portion size and majority being salad decoration ; mains were lukewarm at best and after waiting almost an hour for an average dish is just silly ( they kept asking if we wanted drinks like they were hoping we’d just keep spending more on drinks and not bothered about eating ) side note but not even an apology and others had been served before us ; my friend had been before and said it was and she was so embarrassed she had recommended this place ; that she ,us or her family won’t be coming back to this place . My girlfriend didn’t even eat her fish and chips and hers was cold but didn’t want to cause a scene ; i wish she’d told me earlier because it’s damn right outrageous that you pay for food to get it served cold and end with a £200 for a that’s on par with McDonald’s . Myself and a good friend visited 'The Davenport Arms' on Friday evening 12/12/25, we had a warm welcome from Maisey and Merit, two young ladies who served us all night with a sense of humour. Maisey and Merit were very polite and professional at all times and demonstrated excellent people skills whilst being busy. We both enjoyed our quality food and surroundings, all in all we had a very relaxed and memorable night thanks to Maisey and Merit's excellent hospitality. Thank you both so much, back soon.
