The Promenade

Lancaster, United Kingdom Promenade

Free parking, good public toilets, ice-cream, fish & chips and a great place to stroll It's a promenade, shops on the opposite side of the road. Great views.. Great little town with family and dog friendly pubs and great walks love Arnside promenade.. lovely friendly shops and cafes and a pleasant walk.. Always worth a visit as the views across the estuary towards the South Lakelands are spectacular. This visit was to catch the water at a very high tide. In fact the road from Milnthorpe was under water and I had to take a minor road detour. Arnside could do with some more visitor parking as it is often difficult to find a space. Hello there. I'm trying to think what Promenade it was. If it was Arnside it was quite nice but for the mist coming in off the sea and not being able to see a Bloody thing. It was okay. We stopped for a hour. We got a cup of tea from the bakery. Spoke to a nice lady in there about the place. We took our tea ☕ and sat in the car 🚗. Yes probably better on a finer day. Easy walking from Arnside to the RNLI building on the coast, then sandy and stoney in parts walking along a beautiful shore line looking into The Morecambe Bay Estuary and across to Grange Over Sands A very pleasant walk all year round and everyone you meet has a pleasant word and a smile. WOW! Today a parade of flags, Boom Bikes, and Sea Shanties Tomorrow all again at Morecambe Promonade... Go and see them! Flags are of scenes around Morecambe Bay (part of a Morcambe Bay Parnership- Bay project) Great jewel in the West coast crown No finer place to go for a walk. An unexpectedly nice place for an afternoon walk along the estuary at Arnside. I recommend the ice cream at the little cafe behind the RNLI station. Added bonus and extra star for the parking being free, highly unusual these days. Amazing views at all times of day but especially when the sun is going down and a very relaxing walk across the sand. Just dont forget to stomp the mud off your shoes before getting back in your car!
