These beautiful and tranquil gardens were only a couple of minutes walk from our coach drop-off point - and the railway station. It was a pleasure to walk around the large pond and watch the ducks, geese, and seabirds that gather here. Some of the had chicks with them. There are info boards with photos of all the different species, making it easy to identify what I saw, but I didn't spot any of the more colourful and exotic ducks I was expecting to see. There's a memorial near the entrance that commemorates the servicemen of Grange who lost their lives in the First World War. Some magnificent mature trees surrounding the pond, including a giant monkey puzzle tree. Paths are smooth and wheelchair friendly, and there is plenty of seating. The toilets were 40p to enter, card payment only. There are some nice shops and cafes close by (some of them selling duck food), and a pay and display car park next to the railway station. Nice gardens, plenty of ducks and plus other birds. Lovely mature trees. Very shallow, water was clear, but no weeds or vegetation at the bottom plus no fish. Visited while in Grange. A lovely park to visit although seemingly cut off on the left side as you are taken away from walking alongside the water to follow a path that skirts the nearby train track. You continue along and then past a car park and back onto the road but we cut back and continued along the other path that took you to the far side of the lake. Sat at the memorial cross to enjoy the birds. A nice park to take time out in but that's about all Lovely gardens..sat here for a while and watched the and ducks ..it was quiet and well kept Visited grange over sands promenade and ornamental garden.Very nice walk around. Recommend Visited while here on holiday. A large pond with narrow paths around it, few flowers if any seen at all. The and goslings were the highlight of the visit. Nice little free entry park if you happen to be in Grange Over Sands. Can buy bird feed for a pound. Especially liked the bar headed geese. Ready for a good sorting out like loads of other public parks Used to be lots of nice birds on the lake. Mainly gulls and mallard nowadays. There are some nice trees to be seen and a good place to have a picnic 🧺.
