My husband and I go there twice a week to eat out. Thursday is burger night, where you can get 2 for the price of 1. Delicious burgers with onion rings, chips and peas. All served hot . Great value ... Went here two weeks ago and I found it value for money. The food was excellent, I gave a compliment to our waiter and also asked hi. To feed it back to the kitchen. Very good selection on the menu, something for everyone. I got the mixed grill which to be honest was too much food for me, but very tasty. The boneless chicken wings are to die for. Not sure how they don’t smell it in the kitchen- as if they’re using a medieval cheese. We had to move it to the other side of the table because it was that awful. Flaming grill? Flaming rotten. Streak was that chewy and full of gristle that it pulled out grandad’s dentures. Chicken was boiled like rubber with dry chips. Staff were friendly and the food came quickly but not surprised with how badly it tasted. Be careful what you order My family and I went to the Golden Eagle to celebrate my 60th. We had a party of 14, the seating was perfect. The was fabulous, 14 meals ordered and served within 20 minutes.All the meals came out together, the food was amazing, every meal was perfect. My 14 month old grandson loved his mini chicken roast dinner. Then 14 desserts ordered and again the was fantastic. The waitresses were lovely, kept asking if everything was OK. Im only sorry that we left without thanking them and tipping them but next time im in there I shall rectify that. Thank you for a lovely experience The food was terrible, I know it was a meal deal, Thursday burgers, 2 for the price of one but that's no excuse for serving sub standard, poor quality food, and that's sub standard even by pub grub standards. No hand pump ales is usually enough for me not to go back, last time we went, at least they still had 1, maybe a sign that the pub just isn't busy enough to warrant a barrel or keg of real ale. Bar staff were attentive but serving staff were borderline ignorant, ordered on the app and the cheek of being asked to leave a tip before we've had any service, I'm glad I didn't leave a tip now. The girl that collected the plates was mid conversation with someone else, didn't ask if everything was ok, in fact didn't even look at us! At least the deserts were ok, I suppose you can't go wrong with something from the freezer.....maybe. Even though it's local to us, we won't be back. Really enjoyed this pub. We had the Ultimate Feast all round rude staff- specifically rude waitresses, who giggle to themselves and mock you. weren’t very friendly at all. tried to rush us out, kept trying to take our plates before we had even finished eating. lovely food though and the restrooms are quite nice. loud people watching football so sometimes was difficult to hear, but not too bad.
