Fantastic and chips, prepared fresh from scratch when you order. If ordering to go and not eating right away, a local we met in line suggested the lightly battered so it is still crispy on arrival. The advice was spot on. Overall, tasty food at good prices. Friendly staff and efficient service. Highly recommend. Lovely and chips. The service was great too. It was extremely busy, so order on the app with a time slot to collect otherwise you will be waiting a while. These and were so good I forgot to take any photos 😬😬 Like most folks in the UK, we're very fussy about our and chips, especially the batter, which in this case was lovely and crispy and not sloppy or greasy. The curry sauce and coffee were lovely too. We sat in the car in the adjacent carpark, looking out on the evening view and the trains passing munching away. Our own utensils in pic. Excellent. Update We returned and I remembered to take pics before tucking in ... Well almost, partner beat me to it 😬 is perfect here, sweet & flakey haddock in a very crisp batter. are fluffy on the inside & crunchy outside - portion is generous, but they do offer a lite-bite smaller size which is good to know! Lots of benches with scenic views, or sit in the car overlooking the estuary if it’s too cold to sit out…. It’s generally busy, but they are efficient and it’s worth the wait & a trip to Arnside for these & chips! Walk it all off on the beach - just perfect! This is a seriously good chip shop! Right up there with the best and deserves the excellent reviews. Had to queue and wait a little while but the queue system was mega organised and the staff were great and super efficient. We had and for the adults and nuggets with for the kids and it was definitely worth waiting for. Piping hot, delicious, and a short stroll to the amazing beach/coastline to eat them with a wonderful view. A perfect place for a summer evening takeaway. Went for a run out on my bike here on Friday evening as noticed they served gluten free batter options. There was already quite a queue when I arrived at 5.30pm, but went in to put in my order. The staff were working very hard, but very friendly and helpful. They said it was busy time so food would be about 20mins - but could get a drink in the little bar next door. Orders were handily displayed on a screen so you could see when they were ready but the team also shouted out. The food was ready in 20 mins and I ate mine on a picnic table across the road with lovely view. The food was absolutely delicious, the best in batter I’ve had in a very long time. Very much recommended. The good part : the food was hot. was nice and crunchy. The bad parts : ordered 2 takeaway and at 6:10pm. Was told it will be 30 minutes as they are busy. I waited till 7:30pm, so 1 hour and 20 minutes wait time for 2 takeaway and chips. No apologies to anyone present for the waiting times. They were still taking orders even though it was visible they can't cope. My was definitely way smaller than others I've seen packed. It wasn't chunkier to say the weight was the same, just smaller size. At least keep it consistent for everyone. Would I recommend it ? Taste and texture wise, yes. The waiting times and size, no. Keep that in mind if you go here during busy times. Arnside Chip Shop delivered a mixed but mostly positive experience. I tried their cod and chips, and fish-wise, it was probably one of the best battered cod I've had in the Lakes. The was noticeably fresh, you can even occasionally see a chef filleting it right there, which adds to the authenticity. However, the were quite soggy rather than crisp, which made them a bit hard to finish and somewhat disappointing. The tartare sauce was okay. I also tried the battered haggis, which was okay but nothing remarkable. The portion sizes are generous, which is worth noting. Service was fine, and it's clear the place is popular, as there's often a long queue outside.
