Great to learn about the life of such a talented writer and his experiences of an avant garde and progressive lifestyle in the early 20th century when perspectives were not so liberated. His story and the exhibition of his things gave a very intimate and personal insight to his life in Deia which I found captivating. Even if you know little about Robert Graves, the author of I Claudius, you will find this and museum worth a close look. The setting is gorgeous, the introductory video informative and well produced, and the and garden full of memorabilia from the times Robert lived there. Robert's study and print room look as if he's just popped out to to the pretty village of Deia not far from Soller. Lovely gardens and views here too. A must see next time you are in Deia. Just as his grave in the local cemetery, Robert Graves' was equally very humble, but it somehow manages to give a sence of grandeur and excellence to the villa and surrounding gardens. It's nestled by vinards, olive trees, and an array of colourful flowers and other Mediterranean shrubs. The view from the trreaces is breathtaking. As you wall through the door into the hall a coat hanger greets you with a series of straw hats and overalls the type the local used to wear. I wont say more, even though Im tempted. Its for you to see and enjoy as much as I am my family enjoyed being there and experiencing a multitude of sentimens which in a strange way makes you humble by the grandeur of such an outstanding man and prolific writer, poet and playwrite. I thoroughly recommend it. We had a wonderful time exploring the of Robert Graves but even more amazing was the conversation and fruits we shared with Michael who manages the property and tends to the garden. We'll be back! Bit of a pilgrimage this one. After reading The White Godess : An Encounter a few years ago, I fell in love with the place as described by the author. Happy to say its exactly what I had imagined. Beautiful which Robert Graves actually designed himself. The looks pretty much as he left it with his books and writing desk etc. Also lots of curated pieces from his life. Very evocative of a time which no longer exists. Robert Graves' for many years, now an excellent museum dedicated to the life of the great British poet. Lovely preserved history and very informative. The gardener was happy to give us some fruit fron the trees there. L'hort molt ben curat. 🤩 Merece mucho la pena visitarlo. Precioso deia Beautiful of the poet Robert Graves on the road to Deià. Very interesting, quaint museum with a nice self guided tour. Nice gift shop too! Enjoyed visit to the house. Not very busy. Well set out with exhibition and original furniture. Very crowded and difficult to find a parking spot on busy days so better come early Está temporalmente cerrado ir reformas. Immersive and informative. A remarkable man who witnessed and was shaped by history and art. Lovely former of Robert Graves and family left like he has just popped down to the cala for a swim, as he did every day. There are no facilities here or guide, just a very interesting to wander at your own pace. Go when its quiet to appreciate it properly. Gorgeous with spectacular garden and views. You start the visit with a movie about the life of the poet and author, Robert Graves, which is quite thorough with lots of archival photos and old time-y movie clips. Then you go through the beautiful and wish you lived there :-) Fascinating visit to the of celebrated author and war poet, Robert Graves who lived for many, many years in Mallorca and simply adored the place. Fascinating visit to the writer Robert Graves house. Would recommend even if you haven't read any of his work.
