I have enjoyed every single second in this area. It was a bit rainy but we could still see owls, vultures and eagles. It was an amazing experience to cuddle and owl, smokey. We will definitely visit again for more birdies and animals. Strongly suggesting. Brought this for a friend's birthday and it was brilliant. Tom is very knowledgeable and funny. He certainly had his work cut out with our group! Chris has an amazing passion for animals - what he does is very commendable. Would highly recommend. Loved the place, we were there about 2 hours as we looked around a few times and went through the woods too. Great selection of owls and of prey, not too pricey to get in. The ashey faced barn owls were just stunning, Smudge was a great owl to stand and watch. Loved it would recommend 👌 Visited for the Falconry experience today and it was the best day of the year! The were well taken care of, Dave (the Harris Hawk) was an absolute star and I was privileged to hold him! The guides were amazing, so funny and welcoming, absolutely everyone was in high spirits talking and joking with one another, highly suggest this for anyone, it was my first time holding a bird of prey and it was fantastic, thank you for all you do! A fantastic experience, went on one of the birding trips. So many well cared for and excellent knowledge staff. Plus one mentioned where I can find a Bearded Vulture in the UK. 5* Plus they have Vultures. 6/5 Came away from this place very sad for the poor imprisoned in shabby looking cages. No room for them to fly. Very few native species to learn about just imported now living in an unsuitable climate. No explanations or interpretations in terms of why they were there or what the place was trying to achieve. No visible staff to answer questions or explain, the only time they appeared was to extract the (hefty and cash only) entrance fee from us before disappearing again. If a guy wants to imprison a load of beautiful raptors, and can do it legally, then let him do so with his own money, don’t subsidise this awful practice by paying to go in. We did the full day falconry experience with Tom. It was absolutely fantastic. We got to walk with Gabby the Harris Hawk and then fly her. And then cheeky Merlin, the Barn Owl. We then walked with Pip the Barn Owl and finally held Tula the huge Eagle Owl. All the are utterly beautiful and Tom is such a knowledgeable and excellent guide. Would recommend this in a heartbeat. We had a wonderful day. Visited the sanctuary this morning and really enjoyed the parts that were open to explore. The area was pleasant and the £10 entry fee felt fair. Unfortunately, we completed everything in under an hour, and there just wasn’t enough to keep us engaged until the bird show later in the day. On top of that, the big cat area is only open during certain times of the year, which was disappointing as it was something we were particularly looking forward to. While the visit had its highlights, we probably wouldn’t return unless there were more activities or areas available year-round.
