Beautiful German town thanks to fact that it was spared from Allied bombingsin the Second world war. Very nice and clean urban landscape along river Rhin and Konstanz lake. Urban transport is functional and well organized. Recommendation to visitors and tourists... Very easy and very convenient! Just 11.8 Euro and you reach the other shore of the Lake Constance in 15 minutes. And you pay without leaving your car! Good service in the bar as well. Nice panoramic view on the lake! easiest way to get to meersburg and onwards for €5. the ferry takes 15 minutes saving you many kilometers ackaround the lake by going across. Just Germany doing it's usual thing. I went on a small 5 minute bicycle ride from the aire we where staying in at Uberlingden by lake Boddency on the German side. 73 kilometers later I returned back to the site where I had set of from 4.5 hours earlier. I had only 20 Euro's in change in my pocket. Faced with a massive up hill ride back home from konstace,on route I managed to drink ice cold mountain water from local Wells dotted in and around small beautiful villages and paid 2 euros for a large portion of fruit pie. The remainder was spent on the most wonderful scenic ferry boat sailing back across the lake to a stunningly beautiful town called Mellesburg 14 kilometers from our motor home in Uberlinden. The weather was in the 30 's and certainly took its toll on myself. But one of the most stunningly picturesque bike ride I have ever undertaken. Very few problems with language barrier.
