Visited the ruin on our way through, only €5 entrance fee but make sure you get it at the bottom kiosk. Steep walk up to the castle but we'll worth the effort. One of the biggest in germany and some spectacular views. There is also a cafe at the entrance, there was plenty of parking and even managed to park the motorhome but be early to guarantee space. We paid 5€/Person and the kids were for free. After you’ve entered the paid Zone, you can also use the fire places and benches around. There is a kiost at the beginning of the paid Zone but they only accept cash and the lady at the desk wasn’t very friendly… But all things considered it was pretty cool🤙 We loved these ruins. So fascinating to see and to imagine what life was like back then. The hike is stwep but worth it. We were only able to see the outside because we went after hours. Wish we could have gone on a real tour! As for the castle itself, there is not much left, but you can get a picturesque view on the surrounding: Boden lake, mountains, forests, villages and Singen. It will take you maximum of 2 hours but it is worthwhile visiting. The place was beautiful. And the view going to the castle was magical. You won't mind the long hike because what you'll see on top is beautiful plus you'll be able to see the sunset with Germany's flag color. Very beautiful place. Short but relatively steep climb on a paved road is rewarded with beautiful views of the region and very pleasant peaceful environment of the vast ruins.
