The gorge is beautiful! Bring water, snacks, and waterproof shoes. Come prepared for a long hike. The trail crosses the creek in multiple places, and at times you have to walk in the water. The views and scenery are worth it. Excellent walking trail. I have not been to many places but the Grand Canyon are a must see experience. The trekking is a little bit challenging but with determination and passion you can walk through the Canyon. We walked all through the Canyon till Vale d’Arano where there is a farm and it was already late but we pushed on till Ovindoli were we connected with the bus to Celano. A great and gorgeous experience. 🍀🚶♀️ The place looks amazing, but since the ice is melting, the entrance was blocked by a deep stream of iced water. If you go in spring, take some water proof long boots or be very brave. We visited the top of the hills and had a nice walk in Ovindoli instead. Gorgeous walking trail into a canyon. First gorge short distance in. Next gorge maybe 2.5km in. Didn't go the whole 6km length. Some real easy walking mixed with a few more rocky and steep sections. Still very doable with young kids, maybe 7+. Definitely a must-see! Wow! Be careful to get directions to the right place, though. I simply trusted Google Map directions and we ended up in what appeared to be a cattle farm where horse tours were offered. We had a great time but not what we expected. Do your research!! Excellent place for a few hours of hiking 🚶♂️ Beautiful area to walk through. Path has some challenging parts but very doable. The Celano Gorge is truly amazing with its 200 m walls. The 4.5 km we hiked up the gorge was mildly strenuous with some steep pitches to climb over. It is a very narrow canyon and, though we had sunny dry weather, it should be approached with caution during and after a rainfall. Great place, hiking to the fountain was adventurous journey as the water was insanely cold. We also stayed overnight in a camp(own) and enjoyed our little bonfire.
