The food was alright, do not go there if you’re looking for traditional Azores food. The previous menus are misleading (not the restaurants fault as those pictures were posted by reviewers a couple months ago). They changed their whole menu. Lots of cats, which is a good thing for me haha. Service was impeccable. Lovely place, very friendly and informative. Food clams to start followed by fresh octopus and bbq ribs very succulent and fresh tasty salad. Not bad for our first night in Pico. Miguel and 1 in Pico, we found this place on the 7th day and I must say it was the best restaurant so far. We did not shy away from "recommended" places so C Bistrô really amazed us. Trully unexpected because it is not very advertised but omg the food was amazing. Definitely don't miss it if you're going through São Roque. Frendly staff, tasty food and with a unique presentation. You won't regret it! We were very excited to try out this restaurant due to the good references. Unfortunately, our excitement quickly turned into disappointment. Though he was flexible in offering an alternative vegetarian dish (Couscous including roasted vegetables instead of Tabouleh) the all in all experience was not what we had wished for. Here is why: Overpriced Home-made Sangria for 6€/0.2l (tasted like grapefruit juice), approx. three spoons of hummus on a plate for 10€, cheese & sausage board (4 small pieces of sausage and four slices of cheese with mold on the side) for 12€, dinner was served after 1.5 h, ribs for 17€ (portion did not seem in relation to the price). We did give some feedback, but it didn't seem well received. We've been traveling around the different islands of the Azores, visiting restaurants twice a day, unfortunately, this has been by far the biggest and most expensive experience we have had and would not recommend a visit there. We hope our feedback is taken into consideration and wish all the best. Gut gemeinte 3 Sterne. Die Einrichtung ist eigentlich richtig schrecklich. Hier ist nichts Liebevolles dabei und wenn man draussen sitzt, hat man den Strassenverkehr und wird vollgeraucht. Also auch nicht wirklich prickelnd. Der Service hat eigentlich auch keine 3 Sterne verdient, denn die bestellten Getränke wurden so nicht gebracht, zudem wurde uns ohne zu fragen, ein Apéro-Teller hingestellt. Diesen haben wir dann freundlich aber bestimmt, wieder zurückgegeben. Das Essen selber dafür, war ganz gut. Grill ist wohl deren Stärke. Small 17th Century waterfall through the wall. The whole restaurant is from the 1600s, which makes it truly delightful to visit and eat at. We went there for dinner but some of the food options were not available; however the belly and ribs that we got were the best food we had so far in Pico! The lemon mousse was also on point! Would highly recommend making a booking via messaging before going! I am guessing they will have more food options for lunch as well! The foot was delicious. Highly recommend! Food was delicious and very well priced. The fish of the day was seared in what appeared to be a brown-butter sauce, accompanied by rice and a salad. The shrimp pasta of the day was also garlicky and great. Two entrees, dessert, and a bottle of wine came to under 40€. Llegamos a las 13.30 con reserva y sólo tenía ensaladas, que ni siquiera sabíamos que eran ensaladas porque por el precio parecía un plato de pescado, y unos bistec, nada que ver con las fotos mostradas por otros clientes. La ensalada de atún consistía en frijoles con una lata de atún, por 17€ cada plato. Dos copas de vino con 2 dedos de vino cada una, por 17€. Servicio muy lento, aunque camarero muy amable. Nos sentimos totalmente estafados, en las 4 islas que hemos estado no nos ha pasado nada parecido, por menos precio hemos comido platos de pescado estupendos en otros sitios. Precio muy caro y muy poca alternativa de platos. Simply fantastic! We enjoyed some great wine, food and conversation with the passionate proprietor/server. Everything was perfect but the highlights were the Shrimp and the out of this world Cod and potatoes. This very competent kitchen run by mom is working on a whole other level. Attention paid to every detail and amazing service. An incredible historical building constructed of basalt with a lovely patio. If you are on Pico do not skip this place! Ate alone and felt very forgotten. Food was decent but things were just a bit off - too little rice, the tomatoes had too much of a vinegary taste so it did not go well with the rest. I felt like it ruined the mouthful if eaten with the rice and pork. The needed salt - because they purposely underseason it - this is fine but the waiter never checked up on me or was never really visible so that I could let them know - for the entirety of me eating and even 10 minutes after. I would have to track them down - which I did not. It was fairly late so all the other customers were pretty much done so I know that the waiter had time to check up on me - but did not. Other things that were not the best: - Service was pretty slow. I ate pretty quickly and it took 1 hour and 10 minutes from arriving to leaving. - Value for money is not great. Considering how many things were a bit off - it was quite pricey. - No card payment that day. Might be a persisting issue not just for that day. I do not doubt that they can give you a great experience - I just did not get that this time.
