Fantastic Grill on char coal, good Food, nice beer, friendly Service, nice Garden terrace, super Desserts Food was good but what sets this place apart is exceptional staff. Hustling and happy to help you with any request with a big smile. It’s such a joy to get to a place where you feel that they are so happy to have you there. Place looks authentic and deservedly busy. Great spot right down town offering both indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered firstly order garlic bread, which was not too crispy and grill toasted followed by tuna and sword fish steaks which were flame grilled and came with a potato salad, green salad and a diced tomato salad. All a real good mix we finally finished off with a home made vanilla ice cream with pineapple chunks (sounds weird but actually a really good combo) with a short bead cookie. And a key-lime pie. All dishes were flavourful and showed the chef cares. To drink we ordered the berry sangria. We entered the ocean cafe at 8pm and saw an empty table. The waiter came to us and said you cant sit here, you first have to ask us. We said sorry and ask can We sit here, he said no. We are full. There was no hello no welcome, no sorry, no nothing. The table had no reservation sign. This was the first time in my life we entered a cafe for a beer and that they send us away. So unfriendly and strange. Its a cafe! Excellent speaks and fish dishes. Very friendly waiters. Cozy atmosphere. Moderate prices, regarding the quality. Such a fantastic ambience and yet so dissatisfying. They have a huge grill but the menu doesn't resemble it (1 fish and 2 meat options). We ended up ordering garlic bread (not crisp at all, just flat bread with oil) and burgers with fries. The burgers were OK, but you would expect a bit more in a restaurant (rather than Burger King). The sauce served on the burger and with the fries contained mint, which you have to like. This sauce should/could be optional at charge. When asking for some ketchup for the fries we were informed quite rudly 3 times that it would cost extra, which we confirmed 3 times. We paid extra just to be given some small plastic bags of ketchup. The mint sauce that no one liked to eat with the burger came free of charge. Service was arrogant and so fast that customers don't really feel welcome to stay. We ate just as quickly, left and we won't come back. We dined here twice while we were in Horta. The cocktails were delicious and the wine selection is also great! Order off the barbecue and you won’t be disappointed! Tuna steak was one of the best we’ve had on our trip! Wonderful cafe, friendly helpful and quick service but not pushy. Food was great, fresh and if anything too quick 😊. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
