Leybourne Lake Watersports

Snodland, United Kingdom Adventure sports center

Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. Beautiful place. Really nice people, super friendly service. No online booking system, just arrived and they sorted our request. Free parking for 4 hours near sports place, don't pay to use the first car park on entry. Validate parking at sports reception. Kids aged 5 and 7 loved it. They seemed to have lots of paddle boards, but no double kayaks. Kids fit on 2 single kayaks with adults, £20 each for an hour. Wetsuits advised. They have change rooms and lockers. Went on a sunny day in May. Opens at 10am, closed 6pm. Kids enjoyed seeing swans and baby geese. Cafe right next door sells drinks, ice creams etc. Playground near sports car park. Spent a few hours there in total. Loved it! Beautiful lake but doesn’t allow “unauthorized swimming or boating.” Not sure what’s the point of a council-managed lake that doesn’t allow free access for swimming or paddle boarding? We would do it officially but the activities center shuts at 6pm in the summer. Evokes living in a nanny state. We’ve been coming to Leybourne Lake Watersports for paddleboarding for the past 4–5 years — and it’s always amazing. The lake is calm, beautiful, and the perfect spot to relax and connect with nature. The staff are fantastic — friendly, supportive, and always make you feel welcome. It’s our go-to place to unwind on the water, and we couldn’t recommend it more! ❤️❤️❤️ Lovely lake, the folks at the Watersport Centre were very helpful and friendly. They can blow up your iSup for a small fee. We paid £12 each for 4 hours with our own paddleboard/kayak, this includes your parking if you validate it at the desk. There are lockers and safe changing facilities. Will definitely be back for the evening social, many thanks. The cafe next door is good, coffee was great and they have nice clean toilets, much nicer than the ones at the car park. We’ve been coming back to Laybourne Lakes for years. It’s not just a watersports spot — it’s a place of calm and positive energy. The team running it are incredibly friendly and make you feel like part of the family. Always a highlight of our summer! Great location for open swimming. Once you’ve done your induction you’re good to gol….. This is an outstanding facility for open swimming. The lake is gorgeous, clean and wonderful. However- what really makes the difference is how welcoming the team is. Particular shout out to Ali. She went above and beyond to welcome us and her excellent sense of humour really stood out. Received an unfair parking ticket at this venue. I asked for assistance via email. At first they seemed polite and accommodating. The matter was passed to someone else to review, and I later received a response that was rude, condescending and entirely devoid of empathy. Very disappointed is an understatement. They know they have problems with their parking provider, there's a big sign telling you to take a photograph as you type your registration into the machine, but when you reach out to them for support, you don't even get a shred of empathy. Very upsetting, honestly. If you want to retain customers and good word of mouth, you need to do better. A lot better.
