Really nice rooms and friendly staff. Had o ly breakfast there, but the omelette was really tasty. Very reasonable prices so definitely a good option for Cheia. Un weekend reusit care suntem recunoscatori! Mancare gustoasa si indestulatoare, la preturi corespunzatoare. Camera potrivita sezonul de iarna (nr.8 am avut). Gazdele de exceptie. Very good place for hiking lovers. Don't forget your camera home. We stayed in one of the hotel-like structures. The room was nice and clean. Not much interaction with the staff, and this seems to be the norm, very good for privacy lovers. Ca pe vremea comunismului! We stayed at Ciucas for a few days with a group of friends and we absolutely loved it. We got the best treatment, a great feeling of what Romanian hospitality looks like and got the opportunity to discover many beautiful places around! Totally recommended! Amazing stay and memories with friends and family! Maria was a delightful host and we had a memorable time all together! In the middle of the mountains, the stay was restful, pleasant and even meditative on sunrise and sunsets. A nu se confunda cu Cabana Vârful Ciucaș cum văd că o fac mulți aici, complexul Bratocea este unul primitor și curat. Doamna care se ocupă de loc este simpatică și prietenoasă iar apartamentul în care am stat a impresionant. Micul dejun a bun și la cerere se pot pregăti și alte mese ale zilei iar de la bar se pot consuma diverse. Vom reveni cu siguranță. Apartamentul în care am stat era extrem de curat și spațios. Doamna de la recepție este extrem de amabilă,iar micul dejun sățios. Pentru noi singurul minus apartament a că plita nu funcționa. Recomand! It was awesome. The rooms are big and very clean. The host is very nice and welcoming. The restaurant is big and the food is very good and fresh. Totally recommend this accomodation! Stayed in first floor room with balcony( far left side of photo). Room was fine, plenty of space, clean and most important - comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent - Hot omelette and real coffee (quality of the coffee is always a good indication of whats coming). Friendly service and quiet , set back from the road....and the dogs dont even bark at night.... Cheia is one of my favorite places in the mountains - great walking up to Cuicas 1952m, but its challenging as you start from about 1000m, unless you are young and fit like the many students on the well marked trails.Tremendous views at the top, and mystical smooth rock formations with names like "old Ladies" and "Goliath rock". And the Romanian Orthodox Monastry in Cheia is a must....listen to the call to prayer at sunset , the time honoured hammering on the Toaca interspersed with tolling of the bells. Visit the Nuns "Suzane monastery" just outside Cheia as well. 37 friendly Nuns live modestly there. Cheia- no frills , but friendly ,clean and scenic , a taste of the real rural Romania. Definitely wish to come again, really warm hospitality by the owner offered with traditional Romanian gastronomic/ adventurous hiking/ local monumental visit experience. Can’t miss out on: - home made beef soup, and tripe soup (a personal favorite) - the famous liquor: palinka (homemade as well with local fruits) - cute kid face happy meal with homemade pickles Well, everything is well prepared and served. I'm sure they've offered what they could the best. Advice: if a hiking trip is included in your plan, bring a very thick sweater. Totul a peste așteptări — condițiile de cazare excelente, iar curățenia a impecabilă pe tot parcursul șederii noastre. Mâncarea a absolut delicioasă, pregătită cu grijă și mereu proaspătă. Gazda a deosebit de primitoare și atentă la toate nevoile noastre. Ne-a făcut să ne simțim ca acasă, oferindu-ne sprijin ori de câte ori am avut nevoie. Cand am ajuns am pus sa anulez rezervarea de pe booking ca nu mai aveau 5 camere cum rezervasem ca numai ce au dat una dintre camerele noastre si in loc de 250 ron cat a pe booking ni sa luat 350 ron pe camera simpla! Cand am cerut mic dejun si copii ni s-a spus ca copiii nu au mic dejun! Chiar daca ne intelesesem 12 portii cu o seara inainte si in acea dimineata noi fiind 8 adulti si 3 copii.... deci puteti trage voi concluziile.... ca si oamenii mi s-au parut ursuzi si si avari .... Nu recomand aceasta cazare!
