Cabana Ciucas Peak

Good food (it’s a in the middle of nothing, don’t expect luxury). They have a famous desert that is huge. Service was fine, but it can take a while. PS: not sure how people communicate with them, since no one picks up the phone after trying several times. We were not accommodated here but we had lunch and we used their jeep services to get up here from the parking. The waiters were very polite, nice, repeatedly asked us if we are content and if that’s the way we like it. Prices were reasonable for the location. The jeep service is so cool, we had so fun in the back of the pick-up truck! It’s a wonderful place… enjoying the beautiful panorama and more than drinking and eating local food. He’s right that it’s Comercial place because he’s easy to reach this location and a lot of people you can find here . Road from Cheia is a decent way to test car and driving skills (only for 4x4 car owners) Overall I had a fine experience here. Spectacular mountins ... one hour hiking to Ciucaș Peak (1954 m) ... for sightseeing addicted ones ... Anyway, the room is pretty basic ... waiting time for meals in restaurant was extremely long due to shortage of personnel ... depending on the direction of wind sometimes is present a strong smell of pigs, cows or sheep from the near farm ... :) The Ciucas Cabana was nice , tasty food , bit busy but a very nice place to enjoy the mountains. We will ve back The food and personnel are great, but do not stay here. The room was something else: it reeked of bird droppings if you opened the window, the bathroom was absolutely icky, we found fake nails and grime on the floor. Great food and really nice views on the trail Amazing place to go for a mountain escape, close to the peak and the forest next to it. Lovely scenery and easy access to other attractions. Summer time the place is packed with blueberries, jenuper and lingonberry, super fun for kids to forage. They offer transportation to the and during winter can get crowded and waiting times can exceed more than 2 hours as they do not have an order system. I would not recommend to go during winter if you plan to use their transportation. A good cabin, with friendly staff and great views. More vegan food is available than the menu suggests. One can order (off menu) a nice bean soup with fresh herbs, or slow cooked cabbage with black pepper and polenta. (Ideally the would include these dishes on the menu). The beer is cold and cheap, towels unlimited, coffee pretty good, and there is a ping pong room. Lovely birds fly around outside and there is a sweet cat. Only other downside I really felt was there are many dead bears nailed to the walls. This isn't pleasant for customers who think animals aren't ours to use as we wish. Otherwise a very good cabin. I don't want to bring down their average rating but the would ideally adapt their menu so it's not so focused around meat, to offer food to people with a wide range of diets, given the trend across Europe to people eating less or no meat/animal products.
