A lot of history with old infrastructure and modernized entrance. Despite being highly advertised as a tourist attraction in Rochefort, this is a private property and not accessible easily. We went there recently and found it closed. Though on the posters hanging outside, it was supposed to be open whole day in August. This was also the case with Rochefort abbey where no visit was allowed. They should make this clear on the website at least. There were several visitors like us who returned disappointed 😞 It looks beautiful from the outside, but it's private and can not be visited. Maybe on special occasions, they open their doors. Castle appears attractive from outside but the visiting hours on internet are incorrect so plan your visit with proper tourist guide help. I missed to see it from inside. Very friendly staff, very nice escape room. I reccomend. I came and it was closed but it was a girl inside she saw me but not even bother to came to talk to me. I checked that few times before and they changed the hours last minute. Beautiful place. Relaxing view of nature.
