Really nice and grounds of Lytes Cary Manor. We'll worth the stroll. Edward (my Cocker Spaniel) and I were on our way back from Woolacombe and thought we'd stop here for a walk. It was an overcast but dry day, just right for walking a dog. Where there are no cattle Edward was off lead doing what dogs should do. We spent 2.5 hours following the 3 trails. None were difficult. It's nice just to have the space to breathe. What a wonderful small and ancient place. Estoy seen in an hour's visit, but can spend more time with a cafe and shopping stop. The are lovely and very easy to walk around. The main hall has flagstones that are almost 1000 years old. The chapel is 700 years old and used to the calves... With the main hall being a cider brewery. So pleased the place has been brought back to its former glory. What a wonderful visit, David the guide was extremely informative and friendly He clearly loves his job. Rather lovely smaller National Trust property with stunning gardens. The chapel alone is rather lovely with interesting coats of arms along the walls. Some exceptional needlepoint to view in the along with paintings and furniture…small tea rooms with limited inside seating - outside seating area with parasols …no gift shop which I found unusual!..second hand book area in barn.. estate walks and woodland children’s exploring area. Plenty of parking spaces available and disabled parking spaces too. Disability access almost everywhere with chair lift to tea rooms …disabled toilets available…access to may be limited depending upon disability and the same for the estate walks — gets busy so plan your arrival time!!! We visited lunchtime and it was very busy then… Lovely National Trust property in Somerset. Plenty of parking with level access to the property. Staff very friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed this property and finding out about the history of the house. Plenty of countryside walks of various lengths and a good book barn. Small cafe with limited seating inside but plenty outside with lots of shade. Lovely gardens. Scone rating 9/10 👍 Don’t forget to follow us Lovely place beautiful gardens, certainly worth visiting! Very big manor manadge by the National Trust. The Manor itself looks more grandiose from the outside as inside it has been divided up and not all areas are accessible to the public. There are a lot of Tudor references. Harry VIII apparently never visited. The outside are very beautiful and very well maintained. Lovely wander around small garden. Saw a dragon fly drying it's wings. Arboretum to wander also. A small Manor with original furnishings. The stairs would be difficult for anyone with a mobility problem, but the guides can show you on an iPad what is upstairs so that you don’t miss out. The when we visited on the 5th of June were full of roses and poppies amongst others. The second hand bookshop had a good selection of books, fiction and non-fiction. I went here on a very hot day this summer. The were seeping in heat with crickets chirping and boarders crisping in the heat. The was cool and refreshing, with very interesting corners. The staff made the tour though, so full of knowledge. Small historic property and farm buildings with nice gardens. There is a cafe with mainly outside seating. The has limited entry hours as it is rented out. There are walking paths where dogs are welcome but otherwise, despite Google information, dogs are NOT ALLOWED in the house, nor the tea rooms. So not a great visit that I had planned with my dog. Fortunately someone was able to take care of my dog while I had a quick look at the gardens. The unusual topiary in the front garden has unfortunately been lopped down for refurbishment. The large barn dates from 1500 and is very impressive. Walked around the and the woods, a lovely place to visit. Currently has cherry blossoms out in the woods. It's very special to see.
