Good place to visit at any time of year. Very popular with dog walkers. Very busy car park Boxing Day afternoon, but didn't see many people while walking in the woods. Once you’ve parked in the generous car park which is free. You can turn right and go and soak up the view or go left and find the cinder path of the Polden Way. The path down and back up from the ravine is very precarious but this is a beautiful and my dog loved it. The yellow footpath is currently treacherous and needs wellies! Wonderful place. Seems this was a great place to try out my wild edibles app. A wide variety of wild woodland food grows here . Hazel nuts , crab apples , blackberries to name a few. Wonderful view at the top of the hill. Really glad we visited Beautiful Woodlands, with well maintained paths and trails. There are some steep and muddy bits, again all clearly marked. Picnic benches and twig dens for children. Breathtaking, wide reaching views. Simply stunning. A beautiful forest with lovely’s and routes to walk. Dog friendly park with lots of different paths to walk. Some areas do contain steps and steep walks, so be aware. Car parking is free, which i find is a nice bonus 👍🏼 Lovely to visit all year round. Toilets and fresher shops aren’t nearby, just a heads up, so bringing a picnic could be helpful. Really enjoyed this with my dog today, fantastic from a number of locations. Well kept stone paths made it easy to figure out where to go and the paths off the track made it even more enjoyable walk. Recommend you give Combe Hill a visit Short but nice around the area. Lovely small contributions from schools and information pieces, as you go along Som nice of the Somerset Levels but very muddy…. Definitely wellies rather than walking boots if you go in winter. Beautiful woods, very well maintained and lovely for walks. We've not been to Combe Hill Park for a few years. It got too much for our gorgeous girls (dogs) to walk. We've since sadly lost them both. We now have another gorgeous little girl. We love taking her to all the places that her sisters used to love. This being one of them. There are so many different ways to walk. It's so peaceful and quite a bit of parking for FREE. You will need wellies, as it gets very mucky. Not suitable for mobility scooters or wheelchairs (unless you have a Tramper). It's a shame because I really could do with using mine. Dogs can be let of leads, but there is the main road, which is easily accessible, so please bear that in mind if your dogs tend to wander. We take a flask of coffee. You'll find some benches on route to sit and enjoy a break. There are NO dog bins. For this reason, people seem to think it is acceptable not to bother picking up their dog mess or worse, pick it up and then throw the doggie bag into the trees or bushes. Please do not be one of them. Like us, double bag it, put it in the boot of your car and bin it when you get home. Don't ruin our countryside. What a lovely safe space to your dogs. Fabulous car park (free of charge) picnic benches in some gorgeous spots with amazing views. One down side there is a lot of dog mess, maybe a pooh bin would encourage dog owners to bag it bin it. Lovely place with stunning views. Visited there today which is Sunday and was pretty busy. Lots of different routes to take. Just be aware there is no dog poo bins and defo have yours wellingtons with you. My dog really enjoyed our trip 🐾🐾 Lovely with amazing views!
