We walked through an old mine and from there we climbed two floors to a small but exquisite crystal cave. This one is as very narrow and with a low ceiling. I went again with an elderly fat person and it was accessible enough, although I had to be encouraging and supportive. She wanted to quit many times, but again, in the end she was happy for the experience. I highly recommend this cave. Also, we took a different road, about 10km before Beius town, and this road was winding on the hilltops, very beautiful. I really recommend trying this road and returning on the easier one. Really and worth a visit. Unfortunately, the entrance fee is too high compared to visiting the large caves in the same region. There is a large overflowing garbage can in the immediate vicinity and too much garbage on the side of the road. it a great place to see inside the working environment of a miner. the crystal was accidentally discovered and it is as as it can be a treasure built up during millions of years. Groups enter with a guide who provides valuable indormation about the place. Parking is 100m from the cave. Before going there, call them in order to know the timing of visitation. They have 1h break between opening for guiding and waiting even more if you dont have the luck to have many people around. Small chamber with crystals and basically is an old mine. Very disappointing. But a scenery around. Nice place to visit, the whole area is beautiful. Nice guide with experienced stories. Very interesting, what they made in the Past! Very interesting, was a big and surprise to discover it. For those who are disapointed about the size of the cave, I would sugest them to inform themselves regarding this type of caves - it is the only one în Europe which is open to the public, exactly because of this- the other ones are to small/narrow for public visits, not to mention the fact the calcite-crystals are very fragile - this is why visiting it is restricted to small groups with a guide. As far as I could see, the caves in this area can be visited every hour, so if you just missed it, you have to wait - I think is normal. You can spend this hour admiring the surroundings, the landscape is truly and it is still relatively untouched by modern "civilisation". I hope it will remain as it is.
