Beautiful place for a along the north Down coastal path with to Copeland islands and Scotland. Stop off in Groomsport when you're finished walking for a meal and coffee in the cafe there. Great on clear day of the Copeland Islands and Scotland. Nice small, secluded, clean beaches and pleasant cliff-top walks. Interesting geology too. Not suitable for people with mobility issues due to steep and uneven steps. Sturdy shoes recommended because the paths and steps can be muddy and slippery. No facilities. Limited car-parking immediately off the A2 Road. Worth visiting if you are in the local area. Beautiful coastal area and with of Copeland Islands. The path is narrow and rugged in parts and in wetter months it's mucky. The coastal path has some great across to the Copeland Islands and up close contact with secluded beaches along the way. BUT this is one part of the North Down Coastal Path that needs better signage and some maintenance to keep from deteriorating, so that the public can enjoy for years to come. Would not recommend this section, Orlock to North Down Bay Beach, for those unsteady on their feet as it is more up and down and rough. But otherwise most enjoyable walk. Reasonable for a but not great. Path is not well maintained and subject to flooding in parts on rainy days. I really bad weather parts become a sodden mess. Steps up and down mean its not great for people with mobility issues. At popular times there is an abundance of children and dogs off the lead. I've never had any issues with the dogs. I took my wee dog 🐕 a to orlock on Saturday down to the beach ⛱. It's a total must on a good day there's lovely wee coves that you can sit and enjoy a bit of sun 🌞 😀 and quality time with your family 👪. Its also spotless with beautiful 😍 scenery and a lovely wee path that can take you right into groomsport as long as the tides well out. Had a great day totally unspoilt beauty 😍 Great little hidden gem just past groomsport. Parking on the road side and a lovely little that takes you to groomsport beach if you go far enough. Great for little legs (4 year old and 9 year old in tow), mostly flat but a few tricky wee bits to navigate so not ideal for any mobility issues. Someone has hung a little rope swing which was fun and a few wee beach spots along the route to go down to and explore. Very beautiful place, it worth visiting. unique landscape and views. a hidden treasure that i have lived only 20 minutes away from but never had a look until today. only downside is the pathways are littered with dog faeces and the bushes are festooned with little black bags of grimness from the many filthy and irresponsible dog owners in the area. they have signs up begging people to clean up after their dogs but sadly its falling on blind eyes and deaf ears. Great and it takes them up to Groomsport I was not expecting such beautiful scenes until walking along that coastal route. I am totally attracted by the extraordinary landscapes. It’s very different from the northern coast around course way route. Kids also did enjoy this adventure very much. I would say it is a totally natural, so no public facilities and the car park is just a short park dead end road. There are sharp rocks and cliffs. Therefore, kids must be looked after very carefully. Class wee with nice and some nice inlets for skipping stones Great place for walk, some beautiful views. Lovely place to enjoy a along the coast with amazing Excellent to groomsport. Great walk, very quiet and a bit muddy Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
