First time here today and it's absolutely gorgeous, the views go on and on, the sand is golden, no litter at all and acres of space, also the water is extremely shallow, went out 50-100 metres and was just about passed my knee absolutely loved it Blue sea, golden sand, green forest. All in one place. Beautiful nature 🌊🌳🏖️! A large beach, fluffy sand, tranquility and relax. ⛱️ But heat this sea... 🥶 😁 Love it. Big long promenade and great to enjoy on a sunny day around tk the yacht club and back again. Hard to beat. Lovely beach, with parking and toilets. Love this beach! Grew up within walking distance and this has been a huge part of my life. Lots of parking. Swings. Great sandy with some rocky areas. You can around the point to Groomsport which is a lovely wee walk. Very clean beach. Always love coming here. If you have a motorhome you can up in the carpark before the yacht club for free, it's right in the seafront so great views. From there you can the whole way around to the beach. There is normally an ice cream van and coffee truck parked in the carpark too. Very nice beach. Quite small, has soft sand on one side. Small carpark and grass area with swings. No handy shops or toilets though. Smooth path down to suitable for prams and wheelchairs. Love this place, about 10 minutes away from Bangor at most. Its an excellent and there's always something to see either out on the water or going on the beach. Parking is good there is a car but there's on street parking further up and it brings you out in the middle. Go one way you have a greener go the other way and you can see the colourful houses in their rows. Just a wonderful relaxing or somewhere to watch the waves roll in. On a sunny day, and particularly at the weekend, you would meet walkers, joggers, hikers; 'sitters' on the bench or in the car at the car park; paddle boarding, wind surfing and yachting enthusiasts ... all age categories are enjoying the exciting blend of humans and nature carried away in the freshness of air so specific for this beach. The coffee van would be parked close by to the car and to the small children's playground, and it is stationed there mostly? during the peak time of the day. Public toilets are also on the site /closed in the evening and night/ A spoiling choice - either for "human interaction" or for an absolute escape from it should direct your and footwear. If you wish for an absolute whisper of wilderness, put on your waterproof and ankle high footwear. As you continue in the direction away from Bangor, you reach the end of the and then you cross a turning gate. Here, you would be limited by the tide in or tide out. Regardless the tide, you can always the natural path, though. It can be muddy. If the tide is out , you can go for "off roading". While off roading - hopefully, you slow down and turn your head - you will discover a truly captivating view - the diving into the glittering sea framed by picturesque Bangor buildings and floating clouds. Ballyholme changes with clouds and tides. It is always different and has always something to offer. Romantic, dramatic - photographers must love it! Sunsets are simply hugging. Early mornings seem to belong more to the dog walkers and joggers, and it is very quiet. This offers a truly liberating walk, and in addition, people are always smiling! Beautiful beach. You out over 100 meters in to the sea and still not be waist deep, my daughter loved that. The sea is clear as anything and there is usually a coffee van and ice cream van. Lovely clean sand and even on the hottest day it doesn’t get too busy. There’s also a car right next to it or side roads close by you can on. Dogs are also allowed, we were very amused by a dog on his paddle board! Lovely little day out.
