Ballywalter always has some surprises to see. On the one hand is a great view to the sea front and harbour. Then a short to the right is a beautiful with a play toilets and old lime kilns being restored. A good spot for an easy by the sea. Loads of dogs and children but when I was the there the children were kept under control so it was not a negative experience. A great place to on your own or with company - canine or human! Reasonable sized car nearby as well as a kids play park. Clean and a good place to blow away the cob webs! Wrap up warm! Lots of parking and lovely along the towards the caravan park. Water was warm too! Ballywalter is beautiful in a small city .(22 miles from Belfast) There is sufficient car along the side of the beach,no parking fees . Children can have fun time in the play park. Tables in the middle of meadow gives the opportunity to have food together with family and friends . The promenade through the side of the is energising and rejuvenative. Some people do fishing with fishing boats,but not sure if they sell it there. Your day can be more enjoyable spending time in this lovely place . Beautiful long, sandy to with your dogs. One of the best beaches in Northern Ireland. Great for walking or taking the dog. Its very wide and secure, water on one side and fenced on the other, no danger of the dog running off and getting lost. Beautiful beach, very clean. Public toilets available. Car at entrance. Lovely coastal walk, the history of the lime kilns is interesting, parking, play and the disabled toilet was spotless.
