People in work would rave about it so myself, son and grandson thought we would check it out for ourselves. It sells everything from crisps to hardware and toys and if it's a great selection of ice you're after then you won't be disappointed. There are some bargains to be had if you look hard enough. It must be a godsend for the people in the area because they don't have to go to Carrickfergus for much. The home made ice here is beautiful. It's well worth a drive for it alone. There is beautiful beaches near by as well and cliff walks to be done. Thee are so many different flavours to enjoy here that won't let you down. Lovely little store, with fantastic Ice Cream, unfortunately there is nothing highlighting that this family has been running this store for over one hundred years. I wouldn't have known or visited if I hadn't heard about it from a local attraction. If you love ice they have some unique flavours and have mastered the classics. I've been coming here since I was a kid, and I'll continue to do so. The ice here is to die for, the strawberry cheesecake and Lemon Sorbet are the best. No matter the distance, this is what home made ice should taste like but not only do they do that, check out the coffee and when open again all the home made deserts yum yum. I’m part of a motorcycle FB group called Biking Adventures and routes Northern Ireland or BARNI for short, this is a place we visit frequently and everyone has a smile when we leave (big old ruff tuff bikers lol) as soft as the ice itself. The building connects families who have visited it from kids to grandparents it’s an institution or a landmark in Islandmagee. Pick up supplies for the beach or last minute stuff for a walk or camping trip. Friendly smiles always great you and nothing is to much trouble if you ask a staff member for help. I got engaged here as it has a place in both our hearts and also now with our children, some come on folks rain or shine you have to try some mouth watering delicious delights at the famed Rinkha shop. I have been enjoying Rinkha ice since I was a child and it still never disappoints. On warm days expect a long queue and afternoons always seem to be busy. The main shop has a range of items from toys to garden tools, groceries to gifts. You can also buy teas and coffees to take away. The inside seating is currently unavailable but there are a few tables outside. If you want to purchase something from the shop, go straight in, but for ice-cream there is a separate queue. Well worth a visit if you are in the area. The Rinka is my childhood ice shop. It has really unique flavours like toffee apple during autum. The prices seem to be fixed as they haven’t been changed in years. The Rinka has plenty of affordable sweets and my favourite toys I had as a kid. All I have else to say is that everytime I go there I am hit with nastalga, yet it is still up to date.
