Only reachable on foot. There are a few private rooms with bathroom. The rest of the rooms are shared with shared facilities. They have towels for rent. The use of a sleeping bag liner is mandatory. The food is excellent. It was not weather, but Rifugio Barma was very warm with heaters and very cozy place. People working there were very friendly and nice. The most things are food! We ate polenta concia, baked toma, potato onion baked with cheese, also sweets everything very good! Only I forgot to take photos of foods... we will be sure to comming back! OH MY GOD,what a place they have here, the location is amazing, the rooms are so well laid out and beautiful. The food is soooo (we have been to alot of refugio and this is a step up from them all) .the layout of the eating areas is really well done and there is lots of separate areas to chill out ,sit in the hammock seats looking out at the marvelous view with a spritz in hand( I may have done this ) .The walk up to the refugio is a great track (not a wide easy track) there alot of up and downs and some sections you need to hold onto ropes and big rocky steps ( we parked at Courmial and walked up from there .one of my favorite tracks to date. Such a great find. Will be back one day that's for sure . Wow! This rifugio is really something special! The walk here alone is stunning and when you arrive in this secluded(in the best possible way) refuge you really can relax and take in all of the beautiful views that Mother Nature has to offer! The refuge is modern yet charming and offered a warm and cozy sanctuary! The staff were so attentive- franchesca is fab 🤩! The rooms are spacious and decorated to a high standard and the food was bellissimo- best polenta concha Iv ever tasted! We will return here again and again! What an amazing place! We slept in the rifugio for one night and everything was beyond what we expected. The place is so cozy, the people are so nice, the surroundings are breathtaking and the food, as you expect, very good. It’s absolutely a place to visit, obviously less people you find here, more authentic the feel will be. Congrats to everyone keeping this place alive and beautiful! It’s an ideal place to be for those who are looking for a perfectly calm, completely disconnected place but with all comfort. Super warm and welcoming place with a great atmosphere. Tasty food, comfortable beds, all is perfectly clean, and more over a choice of wines :) Super nice rifugio!! Amazing views, staff are really helpful and friendly, and food is fantastic. The rifugio is very modern and clean, space to spend time in. We hiked up from Fontainemore in about 3.5 hours, was steep but not challenging. Would definitely recommend! I've stayed at quite a few rifugi and this one is without a doubt the BEST! Everything about this place is just outstanding: gorgeous location, amazing construction of the building, fabulous track to get there, welcoming & lovely staff, comfortable beds, well set out rooms and the food was just delicious 😋. Also we were fortunate to arrive to a band playing, the musicians had hiked up the hill with all their gear! It was a very special experience. This will be a hard act to follow, they have set the bar very high. I will definitely be back next year.
