Very well organized, not too big, but not too small, restaurants, sun beds, water sports are available, in an amazing surrounding. However, if you want a quieter experience, go to Itanos, a few km away. I prefer that anytime. The is 3 €. Quite good price accordin to what You get. There are also toilets and showers in the parking. The itself is quite nice, but I recommend staying bear the (near the stairs going up to the view point), it is less windy there and You can stay near the trees. Further from there it is getting quite windy, what we did not liked. Water was warm and the co ditions were co fortable. Excellent awesome beach! We almost liked the driving (~2h) till the as much as the itself! If there are no sun beds available, you may find yourself under the beautiful palms that are surrounding the beach. Don’t forget to pack everything you need for snorkeling. It’s by far the best for fish watching. Clear water and a lot of fishes are to be found near the rocks. Because of the bad reviews, we went at this beach, in the last days of our journey in Crete, but I would have for sure visited again and again. On our next trip it will be one of the first choices:) Before this I’ve seen Elafonisi, Balos, Preveli, Voulisima, Agios Nikolaos, Matala, and some other small beaches in south. I’m also comparing it with other beaches in Lefkada, Zakynthos, Kephallonia, Thassos, Corfu… Very place. But the is closed so you can just see it from the outside, from the and from the view point. We didn't stay long because there were no beds left, yet if you were in the know or known to the restaurant, people beds were found. Not overly impressed 😒 A must visit if you go to eastern Crete. Half an hour from Sitia, a great beach, lovely forest, (that unfortunately you are no longer allowed to walk through due to safety/conservation reasons). The only negative is that they have blocked off all street to force you to use their paid lot, but for 4€ it's not that bad. Just greedy on their part. Really a very beautiful location, but when we arrived it was quite crowded, I took some pictures but didn't stay at the beach. The prices seemed a bit high to me. The is similar to most other beach. It didn't worth the long ride to go there. We dine at the restaurant and the food was pretty disappointing. These were the worst calamary that we had in 3 weeks, if not ever. No one, out of our group of 10, liked them. We ended the diner with the plates still full. Go eat elsewhere if you can.
