BUT the 2 ladies were very kind and gave us the food anyway. GRAZIE mille. They were kind and funny. We also got a couple of beers after the very hot and busy festival 3 hours standing up!! We stopped by Altamura for its bakeries and we were not disappointed. It was scorching hot and the owners were extremely welcoming. The focaccia is amazing. Salty, fluffy, crunchy, fresh. Amazing. Hot bread with ham and cheese, very good. Head Chef Mikele and very good barrister Nicola. Was skeptical of the food laid out but the dishes were REALLY good. I would come back to Altamura for this bakery. Didn’t try their focaccia but their cold pasta and bread salad was stellar. Lovely people and service as well. No service charge! And cheap! The food and staff at this bakery are 10/10! The cookies tasted just like my Italian grandmother’s, which I haven’t had since she passed away 🥹 and the pasta and focaccia were so tasty.
