The guide did a great job explaining the different types of wines. I would definitely recommond everyone to visit Siva to the Cretan culture. We had a wonderful tasting at the winery, perched on a hilltop and surrounded by beautiful vineyards. George was an excellent guide—knowledgeable and engaging—teaching us about the land, the vineyards, the winemaking process, and even how to properly taste and appreciate the different flavors in each wine. We sampled six wines, paired with cheese and bread, and spent a delightful afternoon enjoying it all. Do not hesitate to go to this house. They have the best in Crete. Christos (i am sure I am spelling his name incorrect) is a excellent somelier and very informative. You can taste that you will only be able to in Crete. It's wonderful. PS - only the best houses have dogs. We were able to visit for a tasting with no appointment (we called ahead!) We are grateful they were able to accommodate us especially once we got to trying the wines. The Natural selection was really lovely and our host was incredibly knowledgeable. The wines, both red and white, were outstanding and went way beyond what we expected. They’re honestly on the same level as some of the best French and Italian we’ve had.
