Great thing about here also is that the sun shones a bit longer on this terrace because of the street opposite. Highly recommend a visit I came to drink here as a man on the strip (the owner) approached me and promised the margarita would be free if I didn’t enjoy, as I am myself a bartender of 10 years with a mixology degree. I was hesitant at first but he seemed persistent that I would enjoy, we shook hands so I sat next to a lovely view waiting for my cocktail. The cocktail came to my excitement, I took the first sip and I could clearly tell it was full of just lime juice, the ratio wasn’t correct. Nobody came to check on me. You could clearly see I wasn’t happy and nobody came to approach or give me a new drink. Instead they charged my boyfriend full amount when he explained I wasn’t happy. We said we had a deal with the owner and he proceeds to shrug his shoulders. No hospitality, no customer service. Then I was insulted by the bar man. I only drink Margarita‘s so I know how this is made, I explained there’s no cointreau and full of lime juice, he still charged me €16 and I hadn’t drank more than a couple sips. Very rude I have had plenty of margaritas all over Crete the past month and this was the worst one especially conning money out of us. Otherwise Good view and I’m sure the other cocktails were amazing but next time just be honest because I don’t understand the rude mentality when it was your word in the first place. Me and my friends wont be coming again I visited Drunk Havana in Hersonissos, Crete, and was absolutely shocked by the treatment my group received. As an Irish group on holiday, we were refused service by both staff and reps, who told us that “Irish money isn’t good here” and referred to Irish people as “cheapskates.” We were repeatedly told we weren’t welcome and were encouraged to leave unless we were English or Dutch. The attitude was openly hostile and discriminatory, with zero respect shown to us as paying customers. This kind of behavior is unacceptable anywhere, let alone in a tourist destination. Nobody deserves to be treated this way based on their nationality. I strongly urge Irish tourists — or anyone who believes in basic respect and equality — to avoid this place entirely. UPDATE after owner’s reply: The owner’s response below is completely false and insulting. Let me be clear: we never ordered any drinks, nor were we given the chance. We were refused service from the start. Staff and reps told us, “Irish money isn’t good here” and called us “cheapskates,” unless we were English or Dutch. We left without being served and went elsewhere. The claim that we ordered drinks and left without paying is a lie. Instead of apologizing, the owner has doubled down, saying we should “take it personally” and calling us an “embarrassment to Irish people.” That says it all. This was blatant discrimination, and I want others—especially Irish tourists—to know how we were treated. I hope no one else has to experience this. It is amazing how we have had no issues in any bar for 2 weeks here in Crete or on any other holiday destination .Additionally there are other reviews which have similar issues about your bar which is embarrassing to the ruin the reputation of your area . Please take this personally as you are a terrible representation for the people of Crete .
