Standard sizzling pub, prices and you know what you're getting. It ain't glamorous but it does the job. The food was ..service was too. Sadly we called in on a Wednesday evening which coincided with Bert's Bingo which was fun with people running all round the pub but it was too loud...too early and not when people are still dining...but I will say if I wasn't dining I would have probably enjoyed it....maybe next time Bert's Bingo may be a night and dining will be on another day as the food was lovely. on arrival was you can choose were to sit . We ordered via the app and a starter followed my our main dinner . We did not wait very long for the and then the starter arrived . Very nice, best one we have had in a while . Very nice garden bar with plenty of out door seating with a few open building with and chairs. This place has some offers from the menu or via the app . If you join via there app you get a five pounds code to use which was . I would imagine this place would be very busy at weekends We will be going back soon. 27/04/2023 Visited today with having a new menu. It's gone down hill both starter and main were not nice . Hunters tortillas, and surf and turf both were not up to standards . Very disappointed 😞 50% of the plate was a container of fries surrounded by an empty space :-). Other 50% some very nice sizzled veg and chicken fillet. It was absolutely fine but you could eat two. Brilliant atmosphere...lots of sport on TV. I went here yesterday to celebrate my husband and son's birthday and when booking a table, it was very clear over the phone the had no clue how to use the system. When we arrived, they wouldn’t take a sealed in the box cake off us due to cross contamination which to an extent I get, but this meant we couldn’t do the cake and candles which was very disappointing for a 6 year old. We then went to order the food and the lady at the counter who was on a laptop at the time possibly trying to figure out how to use it took our order but got it wrong three times, at one point walked away from us without saying anything to go into the to cancel directly with them. She then continued with the order and while I was ordering my husband put £5 into one of the machines and it swallowed the £5, I her this and she didn't even address it until I said how does he get his money back. She advised that we would have to claim the money back through the engineer who she would have to call, and she couldn't give us the money back she did ask me for details but at that point I thought what was the point. When the came every plate that was brought out, we were to be careful because the plates were hot even the child's meal. Firstly, why would you bring out a child's meal on a very hot plate surely that's health and safety, as for the rest of the being on hot plates that suggests one of two things for me either the plates have been sitting waiting to be served on a hot plate or the have been microwaved. Either way the food was not quality at all one of us had gammon which comes with egg and the egg was not fully cooked. Overall, this was not a pleasurable experience on the food was poor quality; we didn’t complain to them but we were also not asked if everything was ok with the by anyone like you normally would. We also were missing items as they hand been put through correctly to the kitchen. Very disappointed. service. Vert . Went in with a voucher we got as a present, and the man explained all of our options we could have . Easy to use and the food was amazing. We had mushrooms and boneless chicken as starters and Chinese pork belly sizzler and chicken sizzler . Went for tea tonight and we were really disappointed with our meals. My husband ordered the curry and when it came the portion of curry in the bowl was none existent, and the rice was so dry he left most of it. I had the hunters chicken and it was so poor I could not cut the chicken and I left it. I won't be returning again it's the worst food we have had out in a long time. Lovely pub, lovely staff, friendly, good selection of beers wines and spirits, good selection of food, which is very nice,👍to the staff, and the bar staff, TV screens for all the sports, atmosphere when the football is on, pool table, darts also available, quiz, and entertainment on a Friday, clean, gents loo spotless, soap, hot water and a hand dryer,so,no excuse not to wash your hands, call into the Swan pub Woodchurch Road Prenton, you won't be disappointed. Booked for a of 6 people at the swan pub for a birthday meal their was a disabled guest also. First mistake by the swan was that we let the pub know in advance that their was a disabled guest in the booking notes so the swan ended up seated us in a Booth which was ridiculous with a disabled guest sticking out the end of the table. second mistake was so much so the waitress Sammy ended up banging into the bars of the wheelchair many times with no apology what so ever not Attentive to having a disabled guest at their premises goto the mersey clipper so much more accommodating with a disabled guest & better food. Food average & cheese burger spring rolls where £6.29 for two spring rolls Can get 5 for £4 in Iceland. 1⭐ staff, amazing food made by Kieran in the and a beer garden! We booked a for 7:30pm for dinner, we made it clear to the that we were there for our dinner, we went to the bar to order food at just after 8 and waited about 5 mins to be served. The pub was full to the brim, every single and there was one member of on the bar. They then us that the had closed at 8pm despite us not being that this was the case, the menus were still on the tables, they did not warn a prebooked of 8 people that the would be closing shortly. The member of was very unbothered and actually quite rude when telling us. We then witnessed the have another altercation with a customer that had waited 15 mins to be served. We decided to stay for anyway and asked for a menu, the member of sighed rolled her eyes and said "all menus are on the table" there were no menus on our which was why we asked for one. We then witnessed a huddle of at the end of the bar gossiping , giggling and talking about customers rudely whilst ignoring people waiting to order and loads of tables had dirty plates on! We then ordered (from the menu) to be told, we don't make them! Even though it's on the menu and they have the ingredients. They then didn't know how to make the cocktail we asked for, all in all the made our whole group feel uncomfortable and I saw other customers complaining about the attitude of the staff. This is not the first time the have been rude to us on a visit here and it's not the first time I have overheard them slagging off customers. The service is absolutely shocking which is a shame as it could be a pub and the food is usually really but the culture is disgusting, no doubt fuelled by a negative team leader. Really need to rethink the whole situation as you will start losing more and more customers. Freindly staff, the burger was HUGE and yummy! Welcomed me and our 5 kids. Thank you for being so friendly. local pub with tasty food and a fun, well-run quiz night. and a welcoming atmosphere for every day of the week! Pop in fairly frequently with kid and partner. Food is and consistent with choice of drinks. Specific mention to Lucy who is always happy and attentive. Always makes a fuss of the kid and stops to chat. Very efficient and friendly! Visited Saturday evening with a friend and his 2 kids. Was busy still got a clean table... got serviced quickly at the bar even though it was busy.. food arrived promptly was piping hot. Kids enjoyed there meals... 5* I had a fantastic experience at The Swan in Birkenhead! The cozy atmosphere and delicious food made for a perfect evening. What really stood out, though, was the incredible service from Ellie. She was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Her warm, welcoming personality really added to the experience. From recommendations to making sure our were topped up, Ellie made us feel special throughout the meal. I’ll definitely be returning, and I highly recommend The Swan for both the food and the amazing service! Thanks, Ellie! Used this pub to get on the Everton buses which run from here. What a setup, £8 per person for a trip to the best ground in the UK and return to the pub after the game. really look after you and pint was decent too! Best blue pub around. KAGS! Boss place, were great. Super and kind. Food was yum! Plus show the footie!
