Our guide was very nice and equipped us with lighted hard hats. Just wish we could have gone deeper into the cave (but I guess it probably is not safe). Loved it 😊 and it was so nice for our tour guide to do her beßt to speak English 😊 Small prehistoric cave with stalagmites and stalactites and evidence of human habitation, run by a conservation group that also looks after 6 other natural history sites in Sicily. Hard hats are provided for your guided visit. Numbers are strictly limited each day (50 per day), so best to book in advance. The guides made a great effort to speak English. The visit takes around 1 hour and includes a presentation about local plants. Lots of display boards and printed information in Italian. Astonishingly, no charge for anything and no facilities to even make a donation. You need to wear suitable shoes for walking on slippery rocks, and sign a health and safety disclaimer.
